Thank you to all who replied to my earlier posting. I know many wondered about the work I was referring to. It is from "TV Guide" (yes, a publication that should know better) from 1989 titled "At Last! Women Worth Watching."

There, the author says:

"June Cleaver on 'Leave It to Beaver,' Donna Stone on 'The Donna Reed Show' and the whole page-boyed [sic] sisterhood whose repertoire ran from fussing to fainting to cooking."

If anyone wants the exact citation, let me know, I'll look it up for you.

I still can't understand why they would think June fainted. I'm racking my brain here. Did June have an almost fainting spell? What about Beaver's haircut episode? I remember she covered her mouth and gasped and then said something like "My little baby". Then didn't she lean on Ward? Maybe that is what they are talking about??? I wouldn't necessarily call that a fainting spell. If we were talking about Mrs. Mondello, she would probably be the number 1 fainter.

You're right Jenny, June didn't faint in the haircut episode. I know that one for a fact. All that happened was Ward led her over to the couch and helped her sit down. She didn't even come close to fainting. I am 99% sure she NEVER fainted, so why did they say she did? I agree with Jenny, if anyone ever fainted on Leave it to beaver, it was Mrs. Mondello. That poor lady had issues. I think she may have been the reason Mr. Mondello was always in Cincinati, not work! But, seriously, I liked Mrs. Mondello in the show. I think she's funny.
