I know that she's done her own shows for Fox (https://web.archive.org/web/20061031125202/http://www.jumptheshark.com/t/traceyullmanshow.htm) and HBO, but breaking out so that most Americans are familiar with her just never really happened, don't you agree?

In my eyes why Tracey Ullman had never been a big star in America was because most people knew her from her HBO series Tracey Takes On and The Tracey Ullman Show on FOX and in the UK she was a singer too and when you take comedians/comediennes who do singing in addition to comedy shows you can guess why they focus more on their singing careers because singing careers tend to get the comedian/comedienne more famous. Because when Tracey Ullman began her singing career they tried to make her like Cyndi Lauper and with cute songs with cute lyrics made her well known in the UK. But it wasn't until Tracey Takes On became a smash hit for HBO that Tracey expanded to the American audience but it was The Tracey Ullman Show that actually made her a huge star in America and a star for FOX. Today Tracey Ullman does voice acting for cartoons and animated movies with her most recent role being a character in Disney's Onward and her first big animated voiceover role was Thunderella in Filmation's Happily Ever After and she still is big in cartoon voice actors today
