Kind of like Bob Hartley (https://thebobnewhartshow.fandom.com/wiki/Bob_Hartley)'s patients on The Bob Newhart Show. Did making Larry, Darryl, and Darryl (https://newhart.fandom.com/wiki/Larry,_Darryl_%26_Darryl) really the show and hurt them as characters in the long run?

Yes. They should have appeared less frequently instead of in nearly every episode.

Ditto for Howard Borden in the Bob Newhart Show.

Yes, the introduction by Larry was funny the first time but it got old by the 150th time.

Yes, I agree that the writers could have reduced Larry, Daryl and Daryl’s appearances on the show.

I also think that the writers on “McHale’s Navy”could have lessened Ensign Parker’s seemingly non-ending clumsiness and fecklessness. It got very old in a hurry.
