Oh you young folks could have your own issues already, I was 18 when arthritis hit my body..... so enuf potassium is important for all ages.... I had no awareness of the importance of minerals etc for my body when I was young. It's a world full of information and easy to be educated...

I take a potassium supplement everyday. Mainly because I am on a Diueretic and might lose a lot of potassium. I too have arthritis in my lower back and knees. I just turned 74 so it's to be expected. I also take vitamin D and vitamin B Complex(which is to keep your blood from sticking to the veins and arteries.) My sister who is an RN says to be careful of taking too much potassium. It can be dangerous as it can cause a heart attack and possibly deadly changes heart rhythm.

Penny, it's tough to take in too much potassium, its the contrary, millions have too little. I did mention above the daily RDA is 4K for adults, and I'm lucky if I get 1 to 2K potassium daily. Avacodas are high, V8 Low sodium juice is high, but I work to get as much as I can into my body and KNOW it's not too much....

When I do get labs done the potassium comes in at the low end of the range, and I would like to see it at mid range and that's tough...

Do you get labs done including potassium and yes a diuretic pulls out potassium, and I was taking a diuretic for some yrs and stopped as I didn't feel I needed or wanted it anymore...My BP is good with my 2 BP meds and you be be shocked if you do labs and your potassium comes in low. 1 potassium tab or capsule is ONLY 99mg, ten of t hose divided thru the day is ONLY 990 mg...

To get even the adequate intake, the average American would have to eat like 5 more bananas worth of potassium a day. 98% of Americans eat potassium deficient diets because they don't eat enough plants. Why do we care?May 23, 2013

Less than 2% of Americans even get the recommended minimum adequate intake of 4,700 a day. To get even the adequate intake, the average American would have to eat like 5 more bananas worth of potassium a day. 98% of Americans eat potassium deficient diets because they don’t eat enough plants.

Look at the possible health issues above when one has deficiency in potassium.....

If you think a banana or 2 a day do it, Wake Up!!!!
This deficiency is WAY WORSE than I was starting to believe, and now believe SO MUCH health issues could be reduced if enough potassium!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to wake up the people to what their bodies NEED, good nutrition and knowledge about this potassium issue, there would be a world full of less heart issues for starters. This is only 1 necessity for good health, there are so so many. Without our health, we have NOTHING.

I just called my friend back in PA to tell her I believe I know Why she had a stroke and was in hospital for almost a month, another drama, her potassium levels are LOW LOW LOW....I can take this to the bank. She thinks a banana here and there and an avacodo are doing it, No Way....

People just don't know and the ones who can help them to good health are silenced by pharma an awful lot.....
