View Full Version : Do you wear a wrist watch
GoldenTV 05-15-2024, 07:52 PM With everybody carrying a phone that tell time, these days wrist watches mostly seem to have become a luxury rather than necessity for time/date keeping. But I still like to wear a wrist watch due to its practicality with nothing fancy or expensive.
Recently bought this digital watch from Walmart and love it so far. Its water resistance that can withstand showering, washing dishes or quick dip in the pool. It keep excellent time, have a night light and battery is guaranteed for 7 years. And I think it look kind of cool for the price :)

Caroline13 05-15-2024, 10:31 PM I really enjoyed buying and wearing timepieces, but today I don't go out much and if I do I wear no watch and carry no phone...and even if I had a watch that said waterproof, I would NOT wear it in the water.....why push things...
ThisLittlePiggy 05-16-2024, 07:19 AM I stopped wearing a watch years ago. There is always a clock around, or my phone, or I ask a stranger for the time.
Caroline13 05-16-2024, 01:56 PM Like most of all stuff that Many of us grew up with, this industry is gone too, thanks NOT to the tech balony.
I t hink it's clear here that so many members don't grasp the depth of all the loss of employment and businesses small and huge, U.S. is going thru. "
Babalu 05-16-2024, 06:32 PM I don't wear a watch in the house, but I always wear one when I go out. I have 5 or 6 that I switch off, depending what I'm doing.
Dead2009 05-16-2024, 07:06 PM I used to but since there are clocks and other ways of telling time all over the place nowadays, I dont need to.

Steve M. 05-16-2024, 10:48 PM Yes, because getting your phone out of your pocket to check the time is a pain in the neck.
Ohio8 05-16-2024, 11:30 PM Yes.
Bonniegirl 05-17-2024, 03:24 AM No. I haven't worn one in years. I go by my cell phone for the time if I'm out. ;)
ponytail 05-17-2024, 06:17 AM Yes and no. I recently wore one, but the battery died, and I probably won't replace it. But I do have a nice pocket watch that is a wind up one.
Fleet 05-17-2024, 08:39 PM Yes, I still wear one. A nice, simple one; easy to read.

I rarely take my watch off and usually don't realize have it on my wrist untill I am in the shower already, or working around water. So watch being water resistance was number one priority when buying a watch. And digital watches seem to be better than analog watches in that regard.
The Casio watch (W217 model) I bought have alot of Youtube videos where they drowned, and also freeze the watch in the water and still kept ticking.
KurtfromPitts 05-22-2024, 10:39 AM I do. In fact I'm wearing one right now.
