He was a big saxophonist during the 70's 80's and 90's and worked with the top names in music and made himself a huge name in jazz music. It has been reported that David Sanborn has passed away at 75 and will leave a huge legacy in jazz music. My first exposure to David Sanborn was in the 1995 soundtrack to Disney's Cinderella where he teamed up with pianist David Benoit to perform a medley of A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes and Sing Sweet Nightingale and when the two Davids teamed up to do this song David Sanborn really shows his saxophone talent beautifully along with David Benoit's beautiful piano and it's an interesting song you should listen to. If you like David Sanborn another jazz artist to try is Grover Washington Jr. and just like David Sanborn Grover was also skilled at the saxophone. It's hard to believe that along with Kenny G. and Dave Koz David Sanborn was the top jazz artist. Did Dave Koz and David Sanborn ever go on tour together?
