Additional series renewals to be announced.

Additionally, new cast members on Accused include Felicity Huffman, William H. Macy, Nick Cannon and Michael Chiklis.

All-new single-camera comedy Going Dutch, from executive producers Denis Leary, Jack Leary and Joel Church-Cooper, and starring Denis Leary, joins returning comedy Animal Control, starring Joel McHale.

Additionally, FOX Sports’ presentation of SUPER BOWL LIX, will air on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025, followed by a special episode of Rescue: HI-Surf.

FOX’s new dramas include:

From prolific, award-winning executive producer/director John Wells (Shameless, The West Wing, ER) and executive producer/writer Matt Kester (Animal Kingdom, Outsiders), pulse-pounding Hawaii lifeguard drama Rescue: HI-Surf follows the personal and professional lives of the heavy-water lifeguards who patrol and protect the North Shore of O’ahu—the most famous and dangerous stretch of coastline in the world. Each episode will feature these dedicated, heroic, and adrenaline-seeking first-responders saving lives in the difficult and often life-threatening conditions of Hawaii’s Seven Mile Miracle. The series stars Robbie Magasiva (Wentworth, Bad Behaviour), Arielle Kebbel (The Vampire Diaries, John Tucker Must Die), Adam Demos (Sex / Life, UnReal), Kekoa Kekumano (The White Lotus, Aquaman), Alex Aiono (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, Doogie Kameāloha M.D), and Zoe Cipres (Roswell, New Mexico). In addition, Sea Shimooka (3 Body Problem, Arrow), Shawn Hatosy (Animal Kingdom) and Ian Anthony Dale (The Resident) will appear in recurring roles.

Rescue: HI-Surf is co-produced by Warner Bros. Television and FOX Entertainment Studios. Matt Kester created the series. Kester, John Wells and Daniele Nathanson are executive producers and co-showrunners. Erin Jontow (John Wells Productions) is also an executive producer. Kester will write the first episode, and Wells will direct the first two episodes.

Based on the globally acclaimed Italian series, Doc -- Nelle tue mani, which was created and is produced by Lux Vide, a Fremantle Company, and featured Simona Tabasco and Beatrice Grannò of The White Lotus, FOX’s Doc is a new medical drama starring Molly Parker (House Of Cards) as the hard-charging, brilliant Dr. Amy Elias, Chief of Internal and Family Medicine at Westside Hospital in Minneapolis. After a brain injury erases the last eight years of her life, Amy must navigate an unfamiliar world where she has no recollection of patients she’s treated, colleagues she’s crossed, the soulmate she divorced, the man she now loves and the tragedy that caused her to push everyone away. She can rely only on her estranged 17-year-old daughter, whom she remembers as a 9-year-old, and a handful of devoted friends, as she struggles to continue practicing medicine, despite having lost nearly a decade of knowledge and experience. The series also stars Omar Metwally (Big Sky, Lisey's Story), Amirah Vann (A Jazzman's Blues, How To Get Away With Murder), Jon Ecker (The Watchful Eye, Firefly Lane) and Anya Banerjee (The Blacklist). Scott Wolf (Nancy Drew, Party of Five) and Patrick Walker (Lessons In Chemistry) will recur in featured roles. Doc is co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and FOX Entertainment Studios. Barbie Kligman serves as showrunner and executive producer. Hank Steinberg (Channel Road Productions) and Erwin Stoff (3 Arts Entertainment) are executive producers. Created by Francesco Arlanch and Viola Rispoli, Doc -- Nelle tue mani debuted in Italy on Rai 1 in 2020, where it ranked as the network’s #1 series premiere since 2007. Since then, the series format has been sold in 12 countries with seven versions already made.

Based on the Edgar Award-winning, nine-book “Karl Alberg” series by acclaimed novelist L.R. Wright, and starring Rossif Sutherland (Reign, The Handmaid’s Tale) and Kristin Kreuk (Smallville, Beauty and the Beast), Murder in a Small Town follows Karl Alberg (Sutherland), who moves to a quiet coastal town to soothe a psyche that has been battered by big-city police work. But this gentle paradise has more than its share of secrets, and Karl will need to call upon all the skills that made him a world-class detective in solving the murders that, even in this seemingly idyllic setting, continue to wash up on his shore. Kreuk stars as Cassandra, a local librarian who becomes Alberg’s muse, foil and romantic interest. Mya Lowe (My Life with the Walter Boys, Yellowjackets), Savonna Spracklin (Two-Spirit Odyssey, Wildhood), Aaron Douglas (Battlestar Galactica, The Watchful Eye) and Fritzy-Klevans Destine (The Boys, Superman & Lois) recur in the series, which also features special guest stars James Cromwell (Babe, Succession), Stana Katic (Castle, Absentia) and Paula Patton (The Perfect Match, Precious), Murder in a Small Town is produced by Sepia Films in association with FOX Entertainment and Jeff Wachtel’s Future Shack Entertainment. Murder in a Small Town will be produced in British Columbia, with Ian Weir (Arctic Air, Edgemont) serving as head writer/executive producer, Milan Cheylov (24, The Cleaning Lady) executive-producing and directing multiple episodes of the program, and Nick Orchard (Soapbox Productions), Morris Ruskin and Sharon Wisnia (Mojo Global Arts) and Jon Cotton also serving as executive producers. FOX has acquired all U.S. rights of Murder in a Small Town.

FOX’s new comedies include:

From executive producers Denis Leary (The Moodys, Rescue Me), Jack Leary (Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll) and Joel Church-Cooper (Brockmire), and starring Denis Leary, single-camera comedy Going Dutch ), centers on an arrogant, loudmouth U.S. Army Colonel, who, after an epically unfiltered rant, is reassigned to the Netherlands, where he is punished with a command position at the least important army base in the world. After serving with distinction in every warzone of the last three decades, he now finds himself in charge of a base with no guns, no weapons, and no tactical purpose. Instead, it has a Michelin-star-level commissary, top-notch bowling alley and the best (and only) fromagerie in the U.S. Army. Surrounded by a diverse group of underdogs, the colonel tries to reinstall military discipline and professionalism with the help of the base's previous interim leader, who just happens to be his estranged daughter. Going Dutch is produced by FOX Entertainment Studios. Joel Church-Cooper serves as writer, showrunner and executive producer on the series. Denis Leary and Jack Leary also serve as executive producers.

From creators Adam and Craig Malamut (Sports Friends, Game of Zones, The Champions), animated comedy Universal Basic Guys centers on two brothers, Mark and Hank Hoagies, who lose their jobs to automation and are given $3,000 a month in a new basic income program. Now, they’re using their free time and free money to find purpose in a world where they’re no longer needed. Universal Basic Guys is co-produced by FOX Entertainment through its Emmy Award-winning animation studio, Bento Box Entertainment, and Sony Pictures Television. The series is executive produced by Adam and Craig Malamut. Dan Lagana (Deadbeat, American Vandal) is executive producer and showrunner for Season One. Rob Rosell (Dave, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) will serve as executive producer and showrunner for Season Two.

FOX's new unscripted programming includes:

Extracted is a groundbreaking new survival competition series, in which, for the first time ever, the contestants are not in charge of their destiny. Extracted is produced by B17 Entertainment (a part of Sony Pictures Television), Balboa Productions and FOX Entertainment.

Inspired by the beloved, award-winning 1997 film, FOX’s The Real Full Monty is an all-new two-hour special in which a daring group of male celebrities volunteer to bare all to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancer testing and research. The event features Anthony Anderson, Taye Diggs, the NFL's Chris Jones, Tyler Posey, Bruno Tonioli and James Van Der Beek. FOX’s all-new special is based on the international unscripted format with hit versions in the U.K., France and The Netherlands. The Real Full Monty will be co-produced by Spun Gold TV and FOX Alternative Entertainment. During the two-hour special, The Real Full Monty’s male celebrity talent will train and rehearse for the most revealing performance of their careers, culminating with a big strip-tease dance, choreographed by Emmy Award-winner Mandy Moore, in front of a live audience. Leading up the final disrobing, the men will push their limits of comfortability, modesty and brotherhood with a series of rehearsals and experiences, both private and public, designed to build confidence and remove them far from their comfort zone and strengthen their bond as a group. Along the way, each of the celebrities will share their personal stories of how cancer has impacted their lives. The first Real Full Monty special was broadcast on the U.K.’s ITV in 2017, garnering awards, massive viewership and critical praise. The special has since been broadcast in the U.K. annually, and the format has successfully expanded into Australia, France and the Netherlands. The U.S. format for The Real Full Monty will be produced by Spun Gold TV (a 53 Degrees Global company) and FOX Alternative Entertainment. The show will be executive produced by Anthony Anderson, Dan Norris and Ashley Edens, who also serves as showrunner. Executive producers from Spun Gold include Nick Bullen and Daniela Neumann.

Additionally, LEGO Masters will air its annual all-new multiple-night event LEGO Masters: Celebrity Holiday Bricktacular. Over the course of four crazy hours, LEGO Masters once again will shake it up like a snow globe, with unpredictable twists and surprises. Celebrities will join, as will fan-favorite builders from past seasons, all working together, to create jaw-dropping holiday-themed challenges that will make the contestants’ faces redder than Rudolph’s nose. Make sure you’re on host Will Arnett’s “Nice List,” because LEGO Masters is making all-new plans for the ho-ho-holidays. LEGO Masters is produced by Endemol Shine North America, Tuesday’s Child and Plan B Entertainment, under license from the LEGO Group. Executive producers include Arnett, Pip Wells; Sharon Levy and Michael Heyerman from Endemol Shine North America; Karen Smith and Steph Harris from Tuesday’s Child; Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner from Plan B; and Jill Wilfert and Robert May from the LEGO Group.

Also, as previously announced, FOX heats up the summer with all-new episodes/seasons of I Can See Your Voice (May 16), Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars (May 22), Don’t Forget The Lyrics (May 23), Beat Shazam (May 28), MasterChef (May 29), and Name That Tune (June 3), as well as the series launches of The Quiz With Balls (May 28) and The 1% Club (June 3). Additional summer programming to be announced.

FOX’s full 2024-2025 programming slate is – Dramas: 9-1-1: Lone Star, Accused, Alert: Missing Persons Unit, The Cleaning Lady, Doc, Murder in a Small Town and Rescue: HI-Surf; Comedies: Animal Control, Bob's Burgers, Family Guy, Going Dutch, The Great North, Grimsburg, Krapopolis, The Simpsons and Universal Basic Guys; Unscripted: Crime Scene Kitchen, The Floor, Hell's Kitchen, LEGO Masters, LEGO Masters: Celebrity Holiday Bricktacular, The Masked Singer, MasterChef, Name That Tune, Next Level Chef, The Real Full Monty and Special Forces: World's Toughest Test.

I was not expecting Accused to move earlier against FBI, hope it still does well in the leadoff slot (still ticked they wouldn't air UK Accused during the strike delayed season). Murder in a Small Town could be interesting, might take my live viewership away from FBI: International if I even stick with that one.

I had been expecting FOX-TV to launch a second night for their animated stuff in light of all the new, fresh animated shows it has ordered to series, Family Guy going to Wednesdays, and WWE SmackDown returning to USA Network. I'm disappointed to see it not confirmed. Instead FOX-TV is going to waste an entire night on more sports.

What is FOX-TV thinking? Any of FOX-TV's animated stuff is going to get abbreviated episode orders because of the limited timeslots (of which there are four), which would make it tougher for them to reach the minimum threshold for syndication reruns. I really wish it was Family Guy producing 22 episodes per season while the far older The Simpsons has 20 per season, instead of the other way around. I'm surprised The Simpsons hasn't already announced a "farewell season" by now, and I wish it were The Simpsons being held for midseason instead of Family Guy, farewell season or not. Let Bob's Burgers, Krapopolis, The Great North, or something else lead-out of FOX-TV's NFL Doubleheaders instead. I just don't want the wrong FOX-TV animated shows getting buried and screwed-over in favor of more seasons of The Simpsons, and I also just don't want the wrong FOX-TV animated shows shows being forced to end their original runs before The Simpsons does, especially Family Guy and Bob's Burgers. Family Guy needs to return a lot sooner than the first week of 2025. It has, like, what, 24 unscheduled episodes?

Exactly where should FOX-TV have that second animation night going forward if it can't be Fridays or Wednesdays? I'm thinking Tuesdays would be my best choice. Thursdays would be a maybe.

https://deadline.com/2024/09/911-lone-star-canceled-final-season-5-1236077828/Good riddance, Lone Star was a lot worse than parent 9-1-1 quality wise. Hopefully this means good news for Accused despite a year between seasons for season 3 renewal.

Hopefully this means good news for Accused despite a year between seasons for season 3 renewal.

No, it has to be the opening-up of a slot for Family Guy because of the reasons I've already explained. (You may not be a fan of Family Guy, but I am an on-and-off longtime viewer of FG (since 2006) and do not want to see it screwed over in favor of more seasons of The Simpsons).

I wish lousy Dancing with the Stars had remained streaming only. I enjoyed the Murder in a Small Town premiere. But it got killed in ratings going head-to-head against DWTS. Not a good sign for when Accused returns after over a year off.

I am angry that season 2 of Accused will only have 8 episodes. :angryfire FOX won't have anything worth watching in the new year when Accused and Murder in a Small Town are gone. They gave a big no confidence sign to Rescue Hi Surf. Its post Super Bowl timeslot is being taken away and given to The Floor.

James28
11-19-2024, 10:56 AM
I am also angry that Family Guy's next season can't premiere before the Super Bowl:angryfire; Its next season will likely have to run uninterrupted now. Come on, I gotta have that second animation night. I really wish it were The Simpsons being held for midseason instead, and maybe then it'll be the younger animated stuff on FOX directly following the late-afternoon NFL games. I wasn't willing to check out Universal Basic Guys, either. Also, thanks to Fox changing its SB lead-out choice (which is something CBS should have done to elevate The Neighborhood), I'll have to watch a movie after the Big Game instead (or likely during the Big Game if the Kansas City Chiefs appear in it again:().

A new survival competition series titled Extracted will premiere on Monday, February 10 (the day after Super Bowl LIX), at 8 pm, leading into Rescue: HI Surf.

https://deadline.com/2024/12/fox-extracted-midseason-premiere-trailer-1236191360/

Just when you think avenues for a return of Family Guy for this season can't keep getting evaporated, this could mean all the timeslots on FOX-TV this season are virtually spoken for, leaving zero room for Family Guy and/or The Great North:angryfire. This makes me wish FOX weren't filling their Friday schedule with all-season sports this year. They could launch their next seasons next Summer, but that is just going to hurt the viewership for those two. The possibility of Family Guy ending its original run before The Simpsons does the same is getting more and more real:crying:.

James28, the Saturday blogs here have mentioned a few times that Disney might be looking to move Family Guy and The Simpsons to Hulu with the exclusive specials they have added this year not available on FOX. I don't see that happening with The Simpsons as FOX will fight it leaving. The Simpsons can probably still get them high ad rates. But I could definitely see a Hulu move with Family Guy now just being used as midseason filler, while it hasn't happened before Seth Macfarlane has said a few times he wants Family Guy to air elsewhere than FOX. American Dad from the same creator moved to cable, maybe because of Seth, several years ago now.

James28
12-04-2024, 12:56 AM
^^I would not want a permanent move of Family Guy to streaming-only either, especially if it's made to switch closed-captioning vendors like American Dad! did in 2014 (AD!'s first two years on TBS had all-capital CC, which I can no longer stand; Thankfully, AD!'s use of all-capitals CC ceased after 2016, although I was never a fan of VITAC's CC style.) I wish that new Extracted show waited until Summer instead, so FOX can just put that second animation night I've been wanting so badly on Mondays (which had been looking like the only viable slot for it at this point) and be done with it. If a move of Family Guy to streaming-only happens for real, Fox's continued protection of The Simpsons at the expense of the network's younger animated shows instead of allowing it to just voluntarily end its original run, and that lousy all-season sports night on Fridays will definitely be the driving factors.

Three days ago Universal Basic Guys aired at 8:00 with the direct lead-in of NFL coverage. The Simpsons aired a half hour later than usual at 8:30. There was at least one other time this season where some newer animated show again had direct NFL lead-in. But Family Guy is the 2nd oldest animated show on FOX's lineup. Only thing it is younger than is The Simpsons.

The first episode of The Great North's fifth season ("The Lies Aquatic Adventure") airs tonight (December 22) on the 8 PM timeslot where Bob's Burgers had been airing. This was confirmed by The Futon Critic (http://www.thefutoncritic.com/showatch/great-north/listings/).

That is still not going to alleviate my frustration over FOX continuing to hold Family Guy off the schedule this season. FOX is going to have to do something to accommodate FG's return for this season (like yank a freshman series that's failing in the ratings off its schedule, but with the broadcast networks' success standards getting lower and lower each year, that would be impossible).

Well, why is The Simpsons getting the direct late-afternoon NFL lead-in anyway on today (December 29), with both it and Universal Basic Guys airing new episodes? I thought if The Simpsons was going to have a direct NFL lead-in in the future going forward, it would only be for its "Treehouse of Horror" episodes. I wish it were The Simpsons and Bob's Burgers swapping timeslots today instead. I'm disappointed about this.:(

Fox will be making some changes to its animation lineup.
On February 16th, Family Guy will debut its 23rd season and for the first time, it will be starting off the lineup at 8pm ET.
It'll be followed by the premieres of the 2nd season of Grimsburg at 8:30pm ET and the 5th season of The Great North at 9pm ET.
Then, it's the return of Krapopolis, now in its sophomore season, leaving the returns of The Simpsons and Bob's Burgers in limbo.
Some sources say that they'll move to Wednesdays after the move, but it's highly unlikely as they already have the 13th season of The Masked Singer and the 3rd season of The Floor planned to air on Wednesdays starting February 12th, so they'll most likely be on hiatus for now.

So I guess none of FOX-TV's current animated shows will get a full season order in 2024-25? I would prefer it if Family Guy, Grimsburg, and The Great North aired without repeats for their next seasons (sorry, NCAA March Madness (which is over at CBS)) FOX-TV must be trying to offer us a taste of what a post-The Simpsons Animation Domination lineup could look like. FOX wouldn't have gotten themselves into such a scheduling nightmare if it had not decided to go with sports on Fridays for the entirety of this season and just made room for a second animation night. And having FOX Sundays being all repeats in January when the network's animated shows aired original episodes in previous years looks like another mistake.

^^So the Animation Evolution scheduling nightmare is going to continue all season? I'm not sure how well, ratings-wise, that Friday Sports Night on FOX-TV has been doing. Do you see it returning for 2025-26? I hope it doesn't, based on the scheduling constraints it inflicted. There is no way for Family Guy and The Great North to avoid having at least one original episode of their next seasons air during Summer.:(

What Marcus said is official. Family Guy will replace The Simpsons at 8:00, but just for six weeks. The Simpsons will then return to its usual slot with Family Guy moving a half hour later to 8:30. Bob's Burgers will also go on hiatus replaced by The Great North, but for a longer hiatus than The Simpsons.

The first night of the new FOX Sunday Animation lineup, and there's an inclement-weather delay at the Daytone 500 pushing that lineup outside of primetime, past 10 pm Eastern. At least on my affiliate (KLRT, FOX 16), I still got to see Family Guy's season premiere, which started when FOX 16's 9 pm newscast would usually start. KLRT also played the new episodes of Grimsburg and Krapopolis... but not the new episode of The Great North. KLRT still went to its usual airing of its Final Score sports show at 10:30 pm Central, and then joined in progress the beginning of a Two and a Half Men rerun at 11:30 pm Central.

Doc is getting the breaks that should have gone to Accused with a 22 episode season two.

Yesterday, Fox made the unprecedent move of renewing their long-running animated series: The Simpsons, Family Guy and Bob's Burgers for not one, not two, not even three, but four more seasons, alongside American Dad!, which was recently canned by TBS.
Each season of their shows will contain 15 episodes:

The only renewals I'm happy about are Family Guy and Bob's Burgers.

All I wanted from The Simpsons was just ONE farewell season, and American Dad! really should have been a Hulu exclusive after TBS decided to stop airing its new episodes. I thought AD! couldn't return to FOX because of all-season sports programming on Fridays severely tightening the network's primetime schedule. I resent The Simpsons for being a total Houdini when any situation that feels like the right time to end its original run comes up (like when a few episodes of its current thirty-sixth season start getting below 1 million viewers), and I resent the comments on American Dad! being better than Family Guy because of Wendy Schaal not having any side projects since 2007, and Rachael MacFarlane still not having any on-screen acting roles.

FG and BB need to be working 20 episodes per season, or 16 at the very least; 15 isn't enough.

And does this mega renewal mean The Great North and all the Fox-Entertainment-produced animated stuff getting screwed over and cancelled (or at the very least, the network decides to just stop ordering more episodes of them)?

I thought Family Guy and The Great North were going to air their current seasons uninterrupted because of their current seasons starting so late (in mid-February). But today, all of the FOX animation shows are airing repeats, yet Suits LA on NBC, and Tracker, Watson, and the 2021 version of The Equalizer on CBS are all airing new episodes on Easter evening. Why?

Don't forget AFV and American Idol on ABC, as they were also new.

I only care about scripted programming on the broadcast networks (It's AFHV, BTW, and I'm not going to get into a huge debate about this on this thread or anywhere else). I would much rather have had two new episodes of Family Guy and The Great North each on Easter evening instead of either of them skipping a week of their current seasons in favor of FOX being all repeats.

Rescue: Hi-Surf is cancelled after one season. I have seen Arielle Kebbel in other shows, she is not meant to be a lead actress.

Way too much animation. Yet FOX probably couldn't care less about Accused, the one show on their station I really want coming back.

The final two episodes of Family Guy's current season will air on July 3 and July 10. Why is Family Guy skipping three straight weeks when it could have aired those new episodes, and only airing repeats? I thought Family Guy's current season was going to air uninterrupted, even with the move to Thursdays after May 29. Bob's Burgers is still new on June 12 and 19, Grimsburg will also air a new episode on the 19th. and The Great North is airing two new episodes on the 19th.
