In this video, I look at Superboy vs. the Devil in ultimate test of morality in the third season episode of the Superboy TV series starring Gerard Christopher and Stacy Haiduk. A young Superman before his days at the Daily Planet faces a string of temptations at a mysterious carnival in a episode that feels like a Twilight Zone episode. His biggest temptation turns out how he deals with a criminal who has skirted the legal system all his life and now threatens Lana Lang.
Can Superboy save Lana and not lose his focus on justice? Will Superboy succumb to his own pride at the end? This episode features Christian themes right out of the Bible as Lana faces temptation strangely similar in tone to the one Adam and Eve faced minus the fruit.
At the end I take a quick look at other memorable episodes with Christian morals such as the Rifleman and the Twilight Zone episode, "The Obsolete Man" starring Burgess Meredith.
