When I turned on radio today and went to NPR, a Prodcast was on regarding a baby being born and it's first breath. If the newborn doesn't cry, the medical staff immediately takes action, because there is a very short window of time in which to save the baby. The old technique of holding babies upside down and slapping their back is not done anymore,

I'll bet when a baby is being born at other than a hospital the old technique is most likely used....

No Bonnie no outage here. That was a long one you all experienced.

I don't think a day goes by when UFO stuff is not on my news sources. Coast to Coast radio is heavy in UFO and ET and way out stuff....

Me, I tend to lean that UFO's have never visited earth. Why would they want to come here and disappear just as fast? Lots of highly immaginary humans writing on this for decades.

A CNA at a rehab I was in for my knee issues yrs ago had a strong belief in UFOs and liked to talk to me as I would hear him out....

There surely are some here with an interest in this so will anyone post???

A man on our Senior Group reported how great his knees are doing since drinking 1 cup of green tea daily for 6 weeks.....I drank a lot of green tea over the years but NONE in over `10 yrs or more.

It contains compounds called catechins, which have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Some studies have suggested that green tea may be helpful for reducing inflammation and pain associated with conditions like arthritis and other inflammatory conditions.

If I decided to go for this now, it would mean not drinking my ,morning cup of great coffee...or just 1/2 cup of coffee and cup of green tea...Actually I drink my coffee about 11:30 AM or so, I start my day late.....The tea for pain sounds inviting.

I devote a great deal of my time doing "volunteer work" for a charitable organization. Just this past week I spent an entire evening in meetings. We disbursed checks totaling over $5,000.00 to food banks, children's homes, homeless shelters, and other non-profits. Now I have to spend even more time typing up the meeting minutes.

It's a big commitment. Because my dad was heavily involved with this group prior to his death nearly 25 years ago (and I was assisting him back then), I've been expected to continue in his absence.

It is just alot of fearmongering. Think I told you before that videos from fearmongers and alarmist are dime a dozen on Youtube where they are more about getting more views on their Youtube channels (more views equal more advertisement money) than stick with the facts. A member's take on the dollar

This didn't just happen and people have warned about it since the Federal Reserve was instituted. But, yes, the dollar is and has been collapsing for a century. One dollar is now worth approximately $0.00032 cents. The inflation has increased faster, recently with Biden throwing money in the toilet, so people notice it more now and it is in the news as we scramble to figure out what to do and to push cbdc--probably worldwide. One fiat currency to rule them all.

The leaders keep spending and wasting and fed keeps printing bucks...where will it all END??

According to my estimation, dollar usually lose about 1/3 of it value every decades. For example, I bought a brand new basic truck back in 1990 for $8,000, and now the same basic truck with no extra accessory cost around $22,000. And same thing with my rent. My rent was about $250 in 1990's and now is around $700. So a dollar in 1990's now is worth about 33 cents.

$1000 dollars rent for California is not too bad as I thought it be more than that. My brother live in Seattle and he said one can't find apartment for rent less than $1200. I live in mid-south outside city limit so rent is little bit cheaper. Inside city limit the rent is about $800-$900 for one or two bedroom apartment. The rent and living expenses is cheaper in the south than west or east coast, but on the same note that wages are also lower in the south.

Caroline13

My rent it's said is low, as 2 apts that were empty for a long while and were being remodeled etc I'm hearing one rented for almost $3K and the other close to $4K...the gouging has escalated since covid and yet I keep hearing more and more new bldgs in the works....it's insand, nuts, etc...and yes it's true the coasts are higher in all ways. My 1 bdrm apt is 700 sq ft. We use to say we really pay for the SUN but the recent gouging, I don't know what we call it. All so unreal and so many NOT employed...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Oh and what made CA so outlandishly pricey is the HollyWeird mega business...and eventually aerospace and along came TECH..

My only question about stealing Fire Hydrants is how can they steal it with so much city water pressure pushing against it. Even Firemen are required to wear protective gear when dealing with Fire Hydrants as to not accidentally get blown away by water pressure.

Are you assuming that or is that a fact? Immigrants are some of the hardest working people around and they usually do the hardest jobs (or lowest paying jobs) that nobody else wants. Who do you think do the low paying service jobs, or labor intensive jobs like construction, or go out in the field under scorching sun picking fruit off the ground.

Another worthless waste of our tax money:

The word “Juneteenth” is a Black English contraction, or portmanteau, of the month “June” and the date “Nineteenth.” Juneteenth celebrates the date of June 19, 1865, when enslaved people of African descent located in Galveston, Texas, finally learned of their freedom from the slavery system in the United States.
