does any one know why the hsow was canceled? did it just not get enough viewers or what??

The Addams Family and The Munsters were in the same boat, basically. Ratings had been dropping off in 1966 and both series were planning to change over to color, which would have been expensive in itself, so both networks decided to pull the plug.

This was a wise choice, The Addams Family and The Munsters in color, yuck.

Actually, "The Addams Family" still had good ratings when they pulled the plug on it. But the nework execs (nimrods that they are) decieded to go for a more "adult" show - notice the quotation marks - so they replaced the "Addams Family" with "Batman" (yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwnnnnn....) I do agree that the show wouldn't have looked right in color, it needed to be b & w. and dont even mention those horrible movies/ remakes they made in the early '90's. Two words: CA CA!
