The thing I remember after hearing of the "accidental" death of Freddie Prinze, was of a young female (14? 16 years old?) committing suicide herself and leaving a message behind: "I cannot imagine living in a world without Freddie Prinze".So sad.3 years earlier that young girl would never even have heard of the name "Freddie Prinze" uttered, and probably couldnt have believed that she would end her life over an "actor".Of course, she must have had some "problems" in her life,if she took it so easily.

The girl you mention is Lynn Ann Barriller. She was 12 and took her life shortly after Freddie did.She also asked to be buried next to him in the note. She is buried at Forest Lawn, though not next to Freddie. The reason I remember so vividly is that I wasn't much older and a lot of girls(probably boys too)talked of following Freddie's example. For those who loved him,and all the young girls did,it was like losing someone we had known forever.I'm sure she was not the only one who actually did commit suicide.Freddie's family issued a statement at the time asking that others not
seek this way out and please get help.

Let us not forget that a wide variety of people do not have the coping skills to deal with everyday problems. It could be something so minsicule but, they just can't handle it. Alot of people see a person acting unreasonable or unhappy, tearful etc. and they say to themselves (It's a cry for attention again). I still feel that he cried for help over the years before he actually took his life. I think some people just don't want to hear it and then it's too late. I believe you have to have your ears open when someone cries out for help.

I think that someone who would kill themselves because their favorite celebrity died is disturbed and probably would have killed themselves eventually anyway. Why would you kill yourself if someone you never even met was dead. Some people get way too obsessed with celebritys. The celebrity death wich affected me most was the murder of Selena. I was and still am deeply saddened by the fact that she was taken from us and all though i would like to beat the crap out of the pathetic loser who shot her, life goes on and all we can do is remember those we once idolized who are now gone.

I think that when someone commits suicide after a star does, they were already on the verge of suicide and the stars death was just the final "thing" that pushed them over the edge.Although they may also think that they will see their idol in the afterlife.Who knows what is going on in the mind of somene who takes their own life. All I know is that it is very tragic and sad. When people are under the influence of drugs and or alcohol they do things that they would NEVER do otherwise so I believe many suicides are impulsive mistakes. Sadly, mistakes that can't be fixed the next day when they sober up.

Excuse me, but Elvis didn't take his life like Freddie did, you can argue he self destructed but he didn't intentionally kill himself.

Elvis was on a collision course with death for years. He carried guns and used them (like Freddie),he "scared" his friends with his actions(like Freddie),he was prescribed medication (like Freddie),he died "accidentially"(like Freddie).....he died in 1977 (like Freddie),he left a child(like Freddie).Only thing was,Elvis lasted a lot longer in show biz than Freddie's short run.
