Just like how Seasons 1-3 can be called the "Boardwalk Era" and Seasons 6-8 can be called the "Zoo Era".

Seasons 1-3 easily.
It was all ground breaking then and fantastic writing. It still worked in seasons 4-5 but it then outlived his original premise.
Great sitcoms like Threes Company, All In The Family, The Golden Girls, and Roseanne have great first seasons. But in each of them season 2 is better and then season 3 is the best before it all starts losing its shine. Soon the characters become characters of their former self and the show is running on nostalgia only.

Seasons 1-3 are classic.

Janet's wedding should have been a reunion special with all the eras interacting. It's a shame that The Ropers never got to meet Terri.

I prefer 5-8 when Cindy came on board. I think they should have kept Cindy on till the end to make up for the loss of Helen Roper.

I loved seasons 5 and 6. My favorite episodes from season 6 all had Cindy in them:

Macho Man
Maid to Order
Urban Plowboy

My all time favorite episode is season 5 "Double Trouble" with Austin Tripper. :lol:
