When did it change from being normal and easy to listen to to baby-ish and cringey?

I'm watching season 1 right now & Rory sounds so great. Not sure if she was just trying to sound like Lauren Graham in later seasons and it came out as a baby voice.

Alexis Bledel seemed like such a natural in the beginning of the series. She did not change for the better.
