Dude111 04-06-2024, 12:37 AM Very sad... That show will go downhill as price is right did :(
I sense it wont even make it one season...
Thanx Pat!!
howilu 04-06-2024, 09:33 AM I don't think Wheel of Fortune will go downhill. It's a big transition going from Pat Sajak to Ryan Seacrest and the game won't change. It's a game where everyone can play along at home. Wheel of Fortune has always been a game driven format and the host has always been a traffic cop. Ryan Seacrest will do well and the show will remain on top of the syndication ratings.
Frank Gannucci 04-06-2024, 12:23 PM Plus Pat Sajak is still going to be behind the scenes for at least a few years. I’m sure he will still have some pull backstage as far as what works and I’m sure he can stop someone from messing with what works (I.e. someone who wants to do something that would do more harm than good.)
Dude111 04-06-2024, 08:02 PM I hope it stays good!!!!!!!

You're so wrong it'll do great. (and on a more personal note, June 7th coincidentally was my deceased maternal grandfather's birthday).

Dude111 04-09-2024, 11:51 PM Happy birthday to her :)
icecream 04-29-2024, 07:51 PM In related news, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune returns new with its final two episodes of the season hosted by Pat Sajak next Monday. They will air nationwide on ABC at 9:00/8:00 on May 6 and May 13 following Jeopardy Masters.
Dead2009 04-29-2024, 08:05 PM Drew Carey's been host of the Price is Right since 2007 and it's been going strong ever since.
Dude111 04-30-2024, 05:34 PM Not in my opinion.... Drew Carey ruined that show.....
Its cold and bland now :(

I still watch The Price Is Right but I agree that Drew Carey is too much of a clown and goof off to be a good game show host and CBS should not have given him the job. Drew's silly antics have tarnished the show.
And why does he have to end each show now by telling people to take care of their mental health? Does he think everyone is crazy and going insane? Preachy stuff like this just annoys me.
To be honest, Bob Barker ending The Price Is Right shows by telling people to have their pet spayed or neutered annoyed me too. This is preachy and I don't need someone to tell me what to do with my pet.
And Lester Holt signing off the NBC Evening News by telling people to take care of themselves and each other. Again, preachy stuff like this just annoys me and I don't need to hear it. I guess signing off by saying goodnight and thanks for watching isn't good enough anymore, some of these people think they have to be preachy.
Back in the 1970's when I lived in Chicago, WGN TV had an overnight news show titled Nightbeat, sometimes anchored by Carl Greyson. Carl was a classy guy and pure professional, he ended the Nightbeat shows by saying "And on the beat that's the story for 8-22-76", or whatever day it was at the time. Now that was a classy way to end a newscast.
On the subject of Pat Sajak leaving Wheel Of Fortune, it's unfortunate but I guess he decided to retire. I don't have any issues with Ryan Seacrest taking over but will see how he does with it.

Ending the show on a positive note isn't "being preachy". That's a horrendous take.

You have your opinion and I have mine. There are other ways to be positive without being preachy.

Maybe slightly better but still preachy. And for the record, Drew says the have your pet spayed or neutered thing also. But aside from that, Bob Barker was a great host for The Price Is Right, definitely better than Drew Carey.
Hawkee 05-03-2024, 01:54 AM What I think will happen to Wheel Of Fortune once Pat Sajak leaves and Ryan Seacrest debuts as the new star is the viewership will get low and the show's ratings will also be low. Because I think Wheel Of Fortune will suffer the same fate as Who Wants To Be A Millionaire did when Cedric The Entertainer left and Terry Crews replaced Cedric and then once Terry Crews left Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and Chris Harrison replaced Terry Crews the show got good ratings but got cancelled. Because we already saw this when CBS debuted the daytime version of Wheel Of Fortune when an NFL player did hosting duties of the daytime Wheel Of Fortune in 1989 and fans were surprised at this change and the show got cancelled due to low ratings. What I think they could've done is choose another host other than Ryan Seacrest like Mark L. Walberg or Gordon Elliott but why I think Ryan Seacrest wanted to host Wheel Of Fortune because he was probably a fan of the show and like me played all the Wheel Of Fortune video games as a kid. It's hard to believe that in it's history Wheel Of Fortune has survived changes such as a pandemic and the deaths of two announcers "Jack Kelly and Charlie O'Donnell" and now with Ryan Seacrest as the new star I wonder if it will keep surviving in the future? And Ryan Seacrest will be the new face of Wheel Of Fortune video games and apps along with Vanna White
How come him and Vanna aren't (platonically) riding off into the sunset together?
Dude111 05-04-2024, 04:00 PM .....definitely better than Drew Carey.Yes,100000000000% better :)
Dead2009 05-04-2024, 05:34 PM lol no
biffbronson 05-04-2024, 07:50 PM How come him and Vanna aren't (platonically) riding off into the sunset together?
Vanna believes that the audience hasn't recovered from her replacing Susan Stafford on Wheel in the early 80s. They need a few more decades to get used to that change.
Chuck Woolery will tell her when it's time to go (provided he lives that long). Then she'll host a new incarnation of Love Connection.
icecream 05-14-2024, 07:24 PM Pat mentioned a Wheel contestant is married. She said for now. :doublefacepalm:

Dude111 06-11-2025, 10:51 PM If I was him I would be disgusted how they made the setup look now......
I dunno if I would want to return!!
icecream 06-13-2025, 07:38 PM If I was him I would be disgusted how they made the setup look now......
I caught a glimpse of Ryan and Vanna at the end of today's show when I turned on my TV waiting for Jeopardy! They looked like like they were in the sky with some cloud set.
Dude111 06-13-2025, 11:36 PM Ya its really sad isnt it??
Edward216 04-02-2026, 12:22 AM Ya its really sad isnt it??
