I thought that subject line might get some attention....

Just thought I'd give you all a quick update on myself, and my first day of vet school, which was today!

So, it's the first day, and I'm already behind. Who knew I was supposed to read 35 pages of "Guide to the dissection of a dog" before I came to class today? Somehow we muddled through though, despite the fact we spent most of our lab time cutting away the fat tissue on our rotund specimen. I'm sure I'll have some fun and lovely anatomy stories for you later, if anyone cares.

The stack of notes I had to buy was about a foot tall (this is just paper folks, no binders!) At least I don't have to write notes in class though!

So far the first few days (I had two orientations on each of the previous two days) have been pretty cool. Everyone is really nice, including my teachers, and I can pretty much tell already that this is going to be a blast. (though I may change my tune when exams roll around, but you all will miss out on that most likely since I probably won't have the time to come here!) There was a nice little party yesterday at one of the fraternities, and there's another one this friday. It's kind of weird going from 4.5 years of being completely anonymous in all of your classes to getting to know almost 1/3 of your class in a few days.

I'm attempting to stave off total caffeine addiction for as long as possible, so I'll make this short as I am pretty tired right now.

Basically I just wanted to check in and say "hi", let you all know what was up with me, and that if I am away from the boards at long stretched of time it's not that I don't enjoy coming anymore, it's just simply that I don't have alot of time.

Later all,
~Bootsy (who I don't believe is quite permeated with the ever-present smell of formalin, but who has been told I soon will smell of it so much that upper classmen can tell I'm a first-year from 20 feet away!) :)

Hey, Bootsy! It's good to hear from you. Glad to hear things are going well and that you are enjoying your teachers. Keep us up to date as much as possible and I for one am looking forward to all of your 'gross' stories. Later!

Interesting book.

I'll wait until the movie comes out.

Good luck in vet school.

Thanks for stopping by Bootsy. Good to see you. Come again soon, but umm, leave the dog at home next time, if you would please. :D

I'll be sure to bring my dog to you if he is ever sick ;) Good luck and have a blast Bootsy :D

[By the way, be careful with that formalin. I was reading an article on some girl who dropped a jar of it and it splattered in her eyes!]
