I saw the episode-"Stanley Hotline" on TNN today and was wondering why was janet missing from that episode. Jack's girlfriend Linda was janet's replacement-but why would janet need a replacement if she was only gone fron that one episode?

How in the world could they already be on "Stanley's Hotline"????? I thought they were showing Terri episodes!!!!!!!!! Um anyway, it explains why Joyce wasn't there in the Come and Knock on Our Door book and i didn't really understand it.....but......it said something like "She was sick at heart" or something like that. And she phoned in sick the day of that taping. I think Anne Schedeen did a pretty good job, though.

At that time, ABC wanted to take part of Joyce's salary and give it to Norman Fell and Audra Lindley for The Ropers. Joyce went to the president of ABC and had a handshake agreement with him that she would keep her salary, but her agent told her to not work on the show until ABC signed a paper for them. Joyce was sick at heart abuot the situation - according to her it was hard realizing that in this world all that matters is dollar signs and not your artistic contribution. So the producers hired Ann Schedeen, who was a frequent gueststar on the series because John and the girls loved working with her.

I made a mistake-Stanley's Hotline was on N@N not TNN

Why was it only Dewitt's salary and not Ritter's and Somers?

Because Somers and Ritter were doing a lot more publicity then DeWitt ever did.

Definitely. Anne Schedeen was good in every episode she was in. I wish she had appeared in a few more episodes as Linda.

Is she the one who dumped the bowl of chicken soup on Jack's head?

Yep, that was her. She appeared in the following episodes:

#27 - "Will the Real Jack Tripper" (as Linda)
#32 - "Double Date" (as Linda)
#46 - "Stanley's Hotline" (as Linda)
#100 - "Honest Jack Tripper" (as Lisa Page)

She later went on to play Kate Tanner on ALF
