My mother's side of the family is from New England--Connecticut. And last night I suddenly remembered my aunt used to make Indian pudding. Man, was that good! She served it with vanilla ice cream on top.
Looking on the internet, I determined it was really brought in by the settlers there, so it's not a Native American dish. It probably got its name from an ingredient the settlers were given by them.
Does anyone here know of this dish? YUM!
