The Late Show host received backlash last week for joking about Prince William affair rumors while mocking the princess of Wales' absence from public life. His jokes looked bad after Middleton's cancer announcement last Friday. On Monday, Colbert expressed remorse about the jokes and wished Middleton well, but he didn't outright apologize. “We do a lot of shows, and I tell a lot of jokes, and I tell jokes about a lot of different things — mostly what everybody’s talking about,” Colbert said. “And for the last six weeks to two months, everybody has been talking about the mystery of Kate Middleton’s disappearance from public life.”

Probably should be thinking about early retirement. Won't be sad to see this current crop of late night hosts gone.

They'll be replaced by more of the same.

He's a liberal so he's not going to apologize for his bad taste in jokes.

For some of these celebrities, they'll never admit that they made a mistake that calls for a sincere apology. Ego unchecked I guess.
