Caroline - have you officially lost your mind? I live in Baltimore - have gone over that Bridge countless times.
It is gone. Horrific accident. The admins should delete your account. People lost their lives doing their jobs on that Bridge. Your account should be deleted and you should be ashamed.

blind? Wonder IF someone on East Coast would have posted this if I had not????????
Yes it's horrible and lost lives and I hear about lost lives everyday all over t he U.S. and I'm not discounting the Key Bridge losses and the loss from not being able to use that bridge for carrying on with life,,,,,everyone will be affected from this tragedy....
Dead2009 03-27-2024, 03:55 PM Lol what are you on about? Nobody said it never happened. The only other things posted were a video of going over the bridge, which isn't even recent.

So have I, always had to go over that bridge to visit family over in the city. Shocking to see it gone to say the least.
Bonniegirl 03-27-2024, 04:02 PM Very sad and tragic! Prayers for Baltimore ,those poor workers on the bridge and their families ! :(
A member here, Anna Karenina that I was good online friends with who hasn't posted in a while lives in Maryland , also a guy who went by Isaaih Thomas who hasn't posted here in a while is from Maryland too. I thought of them right away. I think they were both from the part of Maryland near Virginia and D.C. not near Baltimore . But still , I'm sure it is really upsetting being it's the same state! :(
Prayers !!!

Yes it's a major disaster and will cause major issues for the whole country as it will prevent travel and getting goods to all. Amazon has a big plant back there and that will affect prices for all...finding ways to get stuff moving....It's way deeper than on the surface.
dakert 03-27-2024, 05:07 PM Any word on the people who were driving the ship?
Babalu 03-27-2024, 06:25 PM Any word on the people who were driving the ship?
The ship lost power as they approached the bridge. The crew notified the local authorities and they were able to stop vehicle traffic from going over the bridge. That saved lives. Once the ship lost power it drifted into a pylon supporting the bridge, probably the worst thing that could have happened. The crash destroyed the support of the bridge, which caused the bridge to collapse. This particular ship has a bad safety record; this is not the first time it lost power. It probably should not have been allowed to sail in American waters, but it's too late now.

It would not take much for a ship of that magnitude to do any damage....that ship was FULL to it's capacity and beyond....Look at it again.....
I'm hearing tugboats could have made the difference in guiding that ship into port, but just the cost of 1 tug boat assist could have been $50K or so.

I then spent another year interviewing East Palestine residents paying the price of corporate greed and government negligence in the aftermath of the Norfolk Southern catastrophe.

Into port? It was leaving. Tugboats helped get the process started.

The NTSB chair said a senior hazmat investigator had identified the containers.
“That’s 764 tons of hazardous materials—mostly corrosives, flammable, and some miscellaneous hazardous materials—class nine hazardous materials which would include lithium-ion batteries,” Ms. Homendy said.
Lithium batteries, ummm, headed for EV's ...

The Huge Cargo Ship was entering Baltimore.....
Dead2009 03-29-2024, 04:58 PM The Huge Cargo Ship was entering Baltimore.....
It was leaving the port to go to Sri Lanka. Wanna know how I know this? I live in Baltimore. I know that area where the bridge is located.
Caroline13 03-29-2024, 10:37 PM Well, I really goofed on the coming and going issue.... How I got my response, I don't know, I just did I guess...
The Dali was headed from Baltimore to Colombo, Sri Lanka, and flying under a Singapore flag, according to data from Marine Traffic. The container ship is about 985 feet long and about 157 feet wide, according to the website.
I was blaming it on foreign sources and it was from the Americans.
Dead2009 03-30-2024, 07:50 AM You're batting a thousand then lol cause you questioned whether or not it was AI work, then you claimed someone else said it didn't happen, then you tried telling someone who lives in the state where the ship was going.
It's all good though.

Caroline13 04-01-2024, 01:33 PM I hear reporting almost all day on this Hard To Believe Disaster and the massive work to get the wreckage from the ocean floor, piece by piece and working to find the BLAME for this tragedy, was the cargo ship loaded beyond Legal limits, and I would think there are legal regulations but what do I know about shipping and rules are being broken constantly..
Dude111 04-02-2024, 08:43 PM I hear all power went dead on them,I dunno............
