Nickelodeon Orders "iCarly" and "Victorious" Spin-Off Pilots
Aug 2, 2012
by Kate Stanhope

It's the beginning of the end for "iCarly", but fans might not have to say goodbye to the entire cast come November.

Nickelodeon has ordered two spin-off pilots from the show — one for Sam (Jennette McCurdy) and one for Gibby Gibson (Noah Munck), Entertainment Weekly reports.

The Sam-centered series, entitled "Sam & Cat", would also serve as a spin-off vehicle for "Victorious" character Cat (Ariana Grande).

In the show, sassy Sam and eccentric Cat become roommates and start a babysitting business to find their adventures.

In "Gibby", the title character scores a job at a recreational center where he winds up becoming a mentor to four offbeat middle-school students.

Both pilots are expected to start production this summer.

Read about this last night. I wanted there to be a Cat spin-off, so I'm very happy about this.:D

I wonder if this means Victorious will also be cancelled? If Cat and Sam are moving in together, I assume that means both have graduated high school? If that is the case, it wouldn't make a lot of sense for Victorious to continue on unless the cast moved on to some sort of performing arts college or just on to careers.

no way they cancel Victorious - its still their best show.

iCarly is ending because Miranda Cosgrove wants to move on.

i look forward to the spinoffs - Jerry Trainor gets one too. (they need to bring back CRAZY STEVE)

Nickelodeon Greenlights Spinoff of "iCarly", "Victorious"
11/29/2012

Nickelodeon has picked up "Sam & Cat", a spinoff of its popular series "iCarly" and "Victorious".

The news comes on the heels of Sunday's "iCarly" series finale, which drew 6.4 million total viewers.

"Sam & Cat", from creator/executive producer Dan Schneider, stars Jennette McCurdy ("iCarly’s" Sam Puckett) and Ariana Grande ("Victorious’" Cat Valentine) reprising their roles from the two shows.

The new series see their characters as unlikely roommates who become teen entrepreneurs by starting their own afterschool babysitting business.

Nickelodeon has ordered 20 episodes, with production set to begin in January in Los Angeles for a 2013 premiere. The network announced the pilot order in August.

“Jennette and Ariana are adored by our audience, and it’s great to unite these talented actresses in this hilarious new comedy from Dan Schneider," said Russell Hicks, president of content development and production at Nickelodeon.

“This show promises to deliver on what our audience loves most about these two favorite characters: laugh-out-loud humor and nonstop adventure.”

Jerry Trainor's show did not last long at all. The kid on the show played on a few episodes of Shake it up, as the smart kid who tutored CE CE he also played on the new show Bella and the Bull Dogs.

That show called Wendell & Vinnie only had a one season wonder due to low ratings starred Jerry Trainor and co-starred with Buddy, who he's currently supporting role in Bella and the Bulldogs.
