Mariposa was sharing with me the article in the latest People magazine about Pie's wedding. She told me the only mention of Freddie was the same old line about Jr.'s father being the young comic who shot himself (or something similiar to that). It really saddens me to think that the only thing Freddie seems to be remembered for in the general public (ie. media) is his death. I remember from the E! special that he told David Brenner once he would love to be remembered like James Dean and Marilyn Monroe, who both died young and tragically. :( We know that both of them are remembered for more than the way they died. So here is my challenge to all of you....
What if you were given the opportunity to write an article on the doings of Freddie's famous son. What would you write about his dad in the article to give honor to Freddie's memory and even honor to Junior? I am sure it bothers him that this is all his dad is remembered for too!
Any takers?
Is this an innvitation to write an article about Jr?
I'd like to give it a try!

It's so sad. He never gets remembered anymore & when he does it's for his suicide. Of course that has to be mentioned so folks know what happened to him but don't overlook his fine career. He must be very upset to know that is all he is remembered for. He wanted to be remembered as a legend not as some nut who killed himself. I know if ya'll were writing something on him it would truly honor him & not be a one line piece acting like he was a nut who killed himself...

Freddie should not be remembered for his troubled marriage with Katheryn and his drug use leading to his suicide. Freddie should be remembered as a loving young man that with his sense of humor about his own life living in New York brought joy, laughter, and continued happiness to those all around him in the public eye as well as personal. Freddie adored his mother, became dear friends with those around him and trusted them..
I am thrilled to see Jr follow in his Fathers foot steps and has learned a thing or two about his father. My only wish is that Freddie Jr really understands what his own Fathers purpose in live was to live life to the fullest while enjoying life and those laugh with him!
HU-MEE WHAT A BEAUTIFUL TRIBUTE TO FREDDIE!
fREDDIE pRINZE jR AND HIS LOVELY FIANCEE SARAH MICHELLE GELLER WERE MARRIED AT A SMALL,BY INVITATION ONLY CEREMONY IN LAS VEGAS.
WHILE I'M SURE THAT FREDDIE PRINZE JR.'S EYES WERE ON HIS STUNNING BRIDE I'M SURE THAT FREDDIE WAS PERHAPS THINKING OF HIS LATE FATHER,FREDDIE PRINZE WHO I AM SURE WAS THERE SPIRITUALLY THOUGH NOT PHYSICALLY.
FREDDIE PRINZE SR WAS A BRILLIANTLY GIFTED COMDEDIAN WHO WON A STARRING ROLE ON THE HIT SITCOM CHICO AND THE MAN.
FREDDIE PRINZE WAS A MULTITALENTED PERFORMER WHO KNEW THE MEANING OF HARD WORK AND DEDICATION.
HE WROTE HIS OWN COMEDY MATERIAL AND WAS SELF TAUGHT THE GUITAR AND DRUMS HE WAS ALSO A DANCER AS WELL
HIS COMEDY ROUTINES SHOWED US ALL HOW TO LAUGH AT OURSELVES AND HE PIONEERED THE WAY FOR MANY UP AND COMING COMEDIANS.
HE WILL BE FOREVER REMEMBERED, ADMIRED AND LOVED.
BE AT PEACE SWEET LAUGHTER MAN.
RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED IN ADMIRATION AND LOVE FOR FREDDIE BY ANGIE(JOY)OLSON

:crying: These are all so beautiful. I know that Freddie would much rather be remembered this way. I think that Freddie Jr. would have more to say about his dad if people around him spoke positively about his dad. Let's always remember to spread the word about the tremendous talent and wonderful person who was Freddie Prinze!

I too get sensitive when I hear them speak of Freddie in that manner with no regards to what he accomplished by age 22. Hue_mee and Joy said some beautiful things about Freddie and his son.
I guess when they speak about Freddie Jr. They should say it this way.
Freddie Prinze Jr. who is now married to Buffy the Vampire Slayer's, Sarah Michelle Geller had a multitalented father who was a gifted comedian, and a fine actor. He carved a career at the tender age of 20 and performed in countless venues. He was a loving son with loving parents and he passed this on to his son the young actor Freddie Prinze Jr.

I would LOVE to see some articles written like that, instead of short little blurbs that only include "tragic" and "suicide".
The above articles are excellent! Bravo!!!
