I was looking at some television station logos and bumpers and found some on a TV station called KOFY TV 20 and I would like to know if anyone remembers watching it? KOFY TV 20 was a San Francisco based independent TV station that had a variety of shows ranging from game shows sitcoms dramas movies and much more. Some of the shows that KOFY TV 20 had were Soul Train Beverly Hills 90210 reruns and Sweet Valley High The Series back in the 90's. Is KOFY TV 20 still existing today or did it get sold?

I asked via Facebook messenger if they still do the dog ids even though they are affiliated with Grit tv. No response.

KOFY TV 20 is now the Bay Area Grit channel? I didn't know that and find that interesting. Because my mother and I saw KOFY TV 20 once and we liked it because of the variety it offered. What's the history of KOFY TV 20? And what game shows used to air on KOFY TV 20 in the 90's. Because I do remember for a time that KOFY TV 20 tried to get the Chris Harrison hosted Who Wants To Be A Millionaire from KGO 7 but they lost and KGO 7 ended up keeping it after all. Were KOFY TV 20 and KPIX 5 owned by the same company?
Thank you for the info Frank you are full of awesome knowledge

I havent watched that channel but I got a VHS tape in the mail of 20 tapes and 1 of them has GONE WITH THE WIND recorded from Channel 11 KSTW (Seattle) in 1986 (Some of the commercials are there so I knew when it was taped)

I was lucky I got a Gone with the wind recording from 1986 as I believe I remember hearing in 1989 it was "restored" and completly molested...........

I received this station when my parents finally agreed to pay for cable through a local cable company. This company was awesome and was run with top notch service. I lived 300 miles away from the Bay Area, but this channel was great with its programming~ variety of shows and game shows.

And I remember the pet "bumpers". Usually dogs sitting on a chair which were cued to look at the TV for the station's logo to be flashed on the tv set.

I moved away from CA, and the small cable tv company was sold to a larger conglomerate (where you called out of state to report an outage).

What game shows did KOFY TV 20 used to show? I remember the first time my mom and I discovered KOFY TV 20 was when my dad would travel for work and we had a portable black and white TV that we kept in our family van that my grandfather gave me for a birthday gift that my mom and I could watch TV while my dad worked. So we turned on our portable TV and started channel surfing and we were searching through different channels and out of nowhere we see this channel that was showing Soul Train and it had ended when a KOFY TV 20 bumper came on the screen and I said to Mom "What is this KOFY channel? and we had never heard of it and were curious to know more about it and it was an awesome channel because it had a great lineup of shows. I wonder if it had competition with KICU 36? Because that was another great Bay Area independent TV station

KOFY had a few of the game shows that were pre-empted by the local CBS and NBC affiliates, such as "Body Language", "Classic Concentration", "Battlestars", and "Child's Play". KOFY also ran "Joker's Wild" and "Let's Make A Deal 1980", along with "$100,000 Pyramid" and a few other syndicated game shows.
