Swimfan85 09-23-2002, 04:41 PM New England Miami Denver Oakland? TVFactFan 09-23-2002, 05:58 PM Originally posted by briandamage My Top 4 are: New England Miami Philadelphia St. Louis(They might have started out 0-2, but with Kurt Warner at QB, Marshall Falk at RB and Holt and Bruce as WR's they won't be winless for long!) Philadelphia can't be considered a top team because they have not played any team yet who was in the playoffs last year. New England played two teams who was not in the playoffs last year-so i think i made a mistake. Miami defintely looks good. And if the Rams lose tonight they will be 0-3 and no team makes the playoffs that often who start out 0-3. The Rams play Dallas next week- and after that they play Oakland and San Francisco so the Rams may be 1-5 Brian Damage 09-23-2002, 06:45 PM Philly has got Donavan McNabb one of the top quarterbacks in the league. They also have an excellent defense, they are a top team. TVFactFan 09-23-2002, 07:19 PM Originally posted by briandamage Philly has got Donavan McNabb one of the top quarterbacks in the league. They also have an excellent defense, they are a top team. Mcnabb is of the top quarterbacks in the NFC not the league and the philly defense has not played a good offense since week one. The last time the defense of philly played a good offense was the last time they lost. Week 2 and 3 the defense went up against Shane Matthews and Quincy Carter who are the worst quarterbacks in the league-I think i made a GOOD POINT. Also, next week the philly defense plays against David Carr-another horrible team So until Philly goes up against some good teams, please don't consider them a top team. Brian Damage 09-23-2002, 07:44 PM If McNabb is one of the top QB's in the NFC, don't you think that would put him as one of the best in the league? Of course it would. I guess it would but i'm not sold on his passing ability-only his ability to escape defenders. He has to prove to me that he can beat GOOD teams from throwing the ball. In the playoffs last year, the eagles beat chicago-where mcnabb ran all day-and they beat tampa bay-where mcnabb once again rann all day-he did not run against the rams and guess what happen?_THE EAGLES LOST!!!-if you can keep mcnabb from running-you can beat them-that'swhy the giants always does so well against them. Keep a close eye on that the rest of the season. Swimfan85 09-24-2002, 02:17 PM I do get what the big deal with the eagle is? Everyone is claiming how good they are and how they are going to be the superbowl champs...or at least make it to the Superbowl, sure they have a good qb and maybe an alright defense...but I think tht they are over-rated and the one tough game they had this season they lost Kay Scarpetta 09-24-2002, 04:25 PM New England New England New England .....New England..... :D TVFactFan 09-24-2002, 05:17 PM Originally posted by Swimfan85 I do get what the big deal with the eagle is? JoPol_wannabe 10-09-2002, 11:50 AM My top 4 are even if there not so hot this year are: Packers (Got to root for Green he was a Husker) Rams Jets ( Root for Scott Frost he was a Husker) Chiefs (Been a fan ever since Joe Montana was on the team) TVFactFan 10-09-2002, 04:50 PM Originally posted by JoPol_wannabe My top 4 are even if there not so hot this year are: Packers Rams (Got to root for Green he was a Husker) Jets Chiefs (Been a fan ever since Joe Montana was on the team) The Jets???????????????????????????? Bootsy Whoosh 10-11-2002, 06:46 PM Well, I am not a huge football buff, but ever since I started playing fafntasy football I have gotten alot more into it, but I don't know every little detail about every player, etc.... But I do think that the Oakland Raiders are very good this year, and would not be surprised if they made it to the playoffs. As a fantasy player I've been blown away by Priest Holmes and Trent Green (who did absolutely nothing for me when I had him on my roster last year) and then of course there's Gonzalez, so I'm inclined to pick the Chiefs but I do not know what their win loss record is like, or what the strength of their schedule has been. You know, beyond that, I really couldn't say. I enjoy watching football, but I do not pay a whole lot of attention to strength of schedule or the breakdown of the leagues or what not. Maybe I'll get all that down someday, but I've only been really following football for a few years now. I do also think that the Eagles are overrated though. I keep hearing all the commentaters and things say they think they'll go to the Superbowl, but I don't see it. I will say though, I guarantee you I am no fair weather friend when it comes to football: my favorite team ever since I was a kid has been the Cincy Bengals, and I still stick by that even though I know they suck and have sucked for a long time. Someday they will make it to the superbowl again! ;) And anything's better than cheering for Cleveland! :D Kay Scarpetta 10-12-2002, 10:01 AM Originally posted by SOLOMON The Jets???????????????????????????? I just found out from the NFL comissioner that any team that loses to the JETS gets kicked out the league-LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UpstairsSteak 10-12-2002, 02:57 PM I'm the sucker with Jets season tickets (I am actually a Rams fan). The only thing worse than watching the Jets on TV is seeing them live. Going to the games is fun regardless. This year I'd say Oakland, Miami, Denver, Green Bay and keeping an eye on Tampa.
