In the 90's Chevron introduced a new type of gasoline called Techron and to help market Techron Chevron introduced new mascots known as The Chevron Cars who appeared in the commercials for Chevron in the 90's and were designed by Aardman Animation. Each of The Chevron Cars had their own name and personality and the first cars were named Tony Turbo who served as mascot for Techron Sam Sedan and Wendy Wagon and as popular as they were new cars joined in more commercials. And in spite of their celebrity status they were released in toy car versions along with an activity book for kids and not only were they remembered as a great marketing tool for Chevron but they rank as one of the top advertising icons of the 90's. Though some people may think Pixar might've modeled the Cars characters after The Chevron Cars they are unique. Although no longer seen today The Chevron Cars are one of the top commercial mascots of the 90's
