Way before scoring it big with hits such as Living La Vida Loca She's All I Ever Had and She Bangs what few people didn't realize about Ricky Martin was in addition to becoming a huge success in the Spanish language market he was trying to become a soap star and what Ricky Martin thought that being on General Hospital would make him a TV star. But why I think Ricky Martin got on General Hospital was simply because he thought that it was the simplest way to become famous. Because if you look at Mexican telenovelas they use singers to have roles that will make them big stars and Ricky thought the same thing would happen to him with General Hospital because people now saw him as the adult Ricky Martin and not the teen Ricky Martin that we saw and grew up with in teen band Menudo. But had he not continued with acting Ricky would never be as big in the English language market

I think part of his problem is called his ego. I think he lacks chemistry with other actors.
