View Full Version : What year did you first post here at UM (sitcomsonline)
ogapogadots 03-04-2024, 12:43 AM I see some old posts going way back to like 2007 for unsolved mysteries, some further back i believe... My first time posting or replying here for UM was around 7 years ago in 2017. I regret not finding this website much earlier.
What year did you first sign up for this Unsolved Mysteries forum @ Sitcomsonline?
schmave 03-04-2024, 03:28 PM I became a member in March 2013, and my first Unsolved Mysteries post was a few days later.
I remember it was a few days after I moved into my first apartment in several years. I think I was bored on a weekend, signed up and off I went.
Killarney Rose 03-04-2024, 04:12 PM I think it was 2014. I don’t remember how I found the site but I’ve been a fan for many years, back to the original series before syndication.my bad, it was 2010.
Corky Kneivel 03-04-2024, 07:29 PM 2006 or 2007 which blows me away. I like coming back every few years to see what the internet looked like almost 20 years ago (without the ads though)
dynoguy88 03-04-2024, 07:40 PM I go waaaaaay back. I registered my account here on April 1, 2000. I grew up a sitcom junkie, so I thought this was the perfect place for me. It was a couple years before I came back and noticed there was an Unsolved Mysteries section here.
I made my first post to this Unsolved Mysteries board on April 4, 2002 in the thread titled, 'Scariest UM Moments.' Been here ever since.
cordwainer1453 03-04-2024, 10:32 PM I lurked the board for years before registering an account. I don't even remember what compelled me to finally register.
DALLASTEXAN!! 03-05-2024, 01:20 AM I found the forum and I think I made my first post on New Year’s Eve 2007. I was desperately looking for UM content. Around 06/07 timeframe Lifetime pulled UM and I was really bummed. I read online that UM was being broadcasted on lifetime real women. I switched to direct tv to get lifetime real women and by that time UM was not being shown on that channel as well. I am happy I found the forum when I did. It is great posting with others who are so knowledgeable.
Mike82 03-05-2024, 11:25 AM I first posted in October 2017 but read this board for many years before that. It is literally the only internet board I still post on. Love that I'm far from the only hardcore (Robert Stack era) UM fan!
PingAnser3 03-08-2024, 09:01 PM 2006 here. But a couple years ago, my login quit working (no idea why--the moderators tried to help but didn't have any answers either. I quit using the e-mail for tha login a long time ago). I was formerly marlins3 (just used an ID from a baseball forum I was on). So, I had to make a new login ID.
Corkys-Place 03-10-2024, 11:19 PM I stumbled across this website and the UM section in February 2010 and was instantly hooked!
Quickly registered so I could reply in one of the threads and as they say the rest is history. :)
SageSlowdive 03-11-2024, 11:14 PM 2010 - During 2009 I rediscovered UM through the long-banned Youtube channel UMYoucantstopme. Been hooked ever since!
mozartpc27 03-15-2024, 09:13 PM First post just turned 18 years old on March 9 (post was made in 2006). It took me another year or so though to figure out this place was for more than just trying to figure out how to share bootlegged tapes of segments.
comicbookwriter 03-17-2024, 11:38 AM I signed up for the forum in 2004 - I first posted here in 2008.
Wow.

Nostalgia! I loved that channel so much.
I joined this forum in 2009 specifically for UM. Where has the time gone?
dynoguy88 03-17-2024, 04:06 PM Bless his (her?) heart. Uploading UM content to YouTube multiple times and Cosgrove & Mauer got my channel banned every time. I eventually just gave up. But 'UMYoucantstopme,' had a ton of more patience than I did.

I know! I feel like the channel went extinct in the 2014 timeframe - I know I kept going back and referencing segments for all of those years.

I remember 2014. Someone, perhaps UMyoucantstopme, posted A LOT of content around April/May timeframe. I was at the end of a deployment and I binge watched so many segments. In fact that's mostly all I did for a week after I got home lol.

I remember hearing about this site from someone and I joined this board Jan 2, 2004. Seeing some of my older posts are wild because with time, my positions on things have changed and I've double posted on certain topic because I posted in like 2009 and then 2018 w/o realizing it. LOL.
crystaldawn 03-26-2024, 11:53 AM Well definitely a forum veteran here (as well as moderator for over 10 years) but I actually posted back in 2002!!! Geez....
It was a well known fact in my family that I loved "Unsolved Mysteries". I remember just getting a PC and my sister told me about this message board and sent me a link. People were posting questions about the show and I thought to myself "I know the answers to these". Lol...the rest is history. This board has been and still is such a great resource for the fans of this show!

I remember circa 2001 making my first attempt to look up any information online about Unsolved Mysteries segments (even on the most famous stories) and there was next to nothing. Google was only a few years old but if you wanted any update info on ANY segment, other than what Lifetime posted in the late 90's, you were out of luck.
So anyone who posted here from approximately 2001 to around 2004ish didn't have any updates to discuss. It was mainly bouncing theories off of each other and endless posts of talking about segments that scared the hell out of us while watching this show as little kids.
