In my box of music I found a Madonna album called Who's That Girl? which is the soundtrack to a movie of the same name. Who's That Girl? debuted in 1987 and many people considered Who's That Girl? one of Madonna's weakest movies after her debut in Desperately Seeking Susan. But the soundtrack scored two hits in the title song and the song Causing A Commotion was also a hit. Was Who's That Girl? really a flop for Madonna in movies?

Marlo Thomas, she is who That Girl was. But that's not important for now. :winkgrin

I saw parts of Who's That Girl? with my mom and I couldn't figure out why Madonna made this movie? I guess Madonna wanted to add movie star to her career and so she thought she could do it with Who's That Girl? in 1987. But Who's That Girl's soundtrack is really awesome if you are into cool 80's dance-pop songs

What inspired Madonna to do the movie Who's That Girl? I never figured out how it became a big failure for Madonna

I think when she made her acting debut in Desperately Seeking Susan Madonna thought that also becoming big in Hollywood would make her star power shine brighter. And I think that's what she thought with the movie Who's That Girl when it debuted in 1987. I didn't even know that there was a Who's That Girl movie because I thought it was just a Madonna album. But Who's That Girl has an amazing soundtrack for a movie and I don't know why they don't rerelease Who's That Girl in an Anniversary Edition on Blu-Ray and DVD?
