Long before he was James Bond, Pierce Brosnan was a young Irish actor who became an overnight heartthrob when he was signed to star in the NBC series Remington Steele. Co-starring Stephanie Zimbalist, the show was about a female private eye who crested a fictional male boss to be taken seriously, only for a roguish man to show up claiming to be the character she invented. A mash-up of film noir and old-school Hitchcock like To Catch a Thief, the show was a smash and ran for five years.
