I haven't had a chance to watch any of TV Land's "Chico And The Man" shows yet, but I plan on doing so.
I may be wrong, but I seem to remember Chico having a very thick Mexican accent in the early episodes, but he had no accent in the later ones.
Am I remembering correctly? Did Chico have a heavy accent in the early shows (which eventually went away)?

There was an accent, a real uneven one. Some of the time it was East LA Mexican, some of the time New York Rican, some of the time absent, and the rest of the time who knows what. Yet another inconsistency. Notice how the writers couldn't seem to make up their minds on nationality? First, Chico's Mexican, later Puerto Rican.

I always thought that he did the accent when he was kidding around and when he was serious he talked normal.i dont think they ever meant for him to always talk with an accent.
