Let me see if I got the story straight with the MTS timeline. Steve was made a VP in Season 11, but thereafter Robbie (and his rocket or missile project) was terminated and the Personnel Dept terminated Robbie's position as an engineer.

Wouldn't Steve had some sort of inkling or clout to get Robbie transferred to another project or assignment. I realize that the nepotism angle wanted to be avoided making Steve such a straight arrow, but wouldn't a father make a serious argument to retain his son's employment?

This was back in the day when loyalty was worth something and a company treated their employees like family.

Steve was also made a VP of the helicopter division in season 8. But Chip told Polly's father Steve worked for Comson Industries in season 11, which may have been a different company than the one he was at in season 8.

Also when Robbie was hired in season 10, Bob Anderson, Steve's boss, made a big thing about how they immediately hired Robbie due to his qualifications. Odd they would lay him off a year and a half later. Since they wanted to do a backdoor pilot for a new show, they should have just had him transfer to a San Francisco division of the same company.
