Tucson, Arizona (AP) -- Barbara Eden, whom perhaps is best remembered as the title character in "I Dream of Jeannie," died Wednesday morning after a year-long battle with cancer.

Eden was born Barbara Jean Moorhead on August 23, 1934 in Tucson, Arizona. Eden was a cheerleader in high school and a pop singer as a teenager. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1949.

Her first film role was in Back from Eternity. One year later, she starred on TV in How to Marry a Millionaire.

In 1965, Barbara Eden began a five-year run as the title character in "I Dream of Jeannie." When Eden's death was reported Wednesday morning, "Jeannie" costar had this to say about her:

"Barbara Eden was the best friend I ever had. She made my days filled with happiness for years to come. I will miss her deeply."

After I Dream of Jeannie ended its run, Eden went on to star in the feature film "Harper Valley PTA," and the series following it.

She published her autobiography, Barbara Eden: My Story, in 1986.

Eden married her first husband, Michael Ansara, in 1958 and divorced him in 1972. They had a son together, Matthew, who committed suicide last year. She then married Charles Fegert on September 3, 1977, and divorced him 6 years later.

Eden is survived by her third husband, Jon Eicholtz.

Hey by the way Barbara Eden turned 71 this year, yes she is older than Hagge (Larry Hagman, its a nick name 1020 Palm Drive the group have for him) but only by 3 weeks. She lowed her age for show business. And from what I know the women is still going strong just like Hagge.

About a month ago I saw a artice claim that Hagge had passed on too well it was bull****.

The bit where is said her co- star had this to say sounds like something Hagge would say, they were very very close friends ;) As the two have said during the years.

I agree she looks absolutely fabulous!!!! What's her secret to staying so thin? Even when she was Jeannie she was so skinny.

She's probably just one of those people that can eat all the time and never gain weight.

Its Ruth here again, I'm using Dana's ID because she doesn't use it anymore and I can't be stuff with the password and loging in stuff, so from now on I'm the new Ms Garthe Knight on this board, which is good since I like Garthe Knight better than Micheal Knight (both roles play by David Hasselhoff) but Dana just had to take the name even though she like Michael Knight better.

I there is a guy I know who says he knows Barbara Eden and talks to her about once a month, so I have ask him if he could ask Barbara Eden some questions, you know like an interview for the 1020 Palm Drive site. The first one I asked is "What'a your secert to looking so good?" hopefully she does answer the questions as I have ask her some questions 1020 Palm Drive the group are dying to know, but I kind of had to change the question around so she would want to answer it. But I also asked her questions like what is the best role she thinks she has done (that was to see if it really is Barbara Eden too) if she ever thought that I dream of Jeannie would become television history, what it was like working with the cast. One Dana asked is she heard that Larry Hagman was a bit of a joker on Dallas as he seemed to like getting Patrick Duffy into troble -- which he did some sad things to him too, so she asked if Hagge was like that on the set of I dream of Jeannie and if he pulled any jokes on her. Others we asked was how she got her role on Dallas, whos idea was her role on Dallas and how her and Hagge got their roles for the movie "A Howling in the Woods" and we asked others. Let just hope she answer them!

HOPE! Days of our lives! She was on MacGyver last nite Meagan not on Saturday nite here in New Zealand, funny thing is MacGyver and Hope were talking about New Zealand in that episode and she was going on about how she wanted to go there and MacGyver was saying how he had been the and loved (well in real life Richard Dean Anderson loves New Zealand but I found that out after having a thing for him)
I have to say she look so much better in MacGyver she was really pretty compare to DOOL , I don't like her much in DOOL I think Billy should get BO (Yes, I watch the show too I tape it all the time and watch it in the weekend but in New Zealand we are about 5 years behind, Dana watches it sometimes too) Well about Hope her face didn't look so long as is does on DOOL and she had a bit of fat on her body. I say its a must see. It was kind of sad because it was Nikki Carpetner's last episode (but she comes back for one more a year later which in Hope comes back to kill MacGyver again but this time MacGyver kills her and its the end of her), Hope used Nikki to get to MacGyver and MacGyver falls for Hope too, I always thought Nikki would have got MacGyver at the end but she didn't but she saved him at the end. Another good actor they killed off in that show was the chick from Knight Rider Patricia McPherson but I guess its because she didn't want to come back she was out saving the wetlands in LA. Something MacGyver loves to do.

I hope that they really know her and we get real answers. Those questions are great. So you like Billie and Bo better, well you'd be glad to know that she's back in Salem and she's a police officer and she's working with Bo!

I kind of pissed at the show right now. Austin and Carrie got married when I think she should have married Mike. John and Marlena need to get a room and Billy should be with Bo not Hope. And I can't believe Hope waited around for Bo so long "Thats not Hope!!" Sam is Malena's child with Dr Evil. And Franoc need to visit Dr Bellows with Kate who need to stop pushing in her children's love life. By the way can you give me a update on what is happening now.

Well, here's some stuff for you: Carrie and Austin will devorce and Carrie and Mike will ride off together in the sun set. :) Kate and Roman are dating!!! Much to Sami's disliking. Marlena and John still need to get a room. LOL j/k Actually Tony DiMera is back in Salem!!! Him and Lexie are heading up the DiMera empire because Stefano is supposively dead, again. Abe is trying to devorce Lexie. Sami is dating Brandon Walker (I'm not sure if he has arrived in Salem yet on the shows you are watching). Sami and Nicole Walker (Brandon's sister) are playing blackmail games. Sami finds out about the Gemini Twins (Cassie and Rex) (They came to Salem on the 4th of July, the twins are genetically enginered, and have Pheonix tatoos just like the one John has on his back, but the twins are good people they aren't bad at all, not yet anyway, my theory is that they have been enginnered to be Tony and Marlena's kids!!!!) Sami is working for Tony and is spying on her family. She then tells Tony about the twins and all you know what breaks loose. Jennifer is still in love with Jack. Colin Murphy, who is a Brady, is suspected of working for the DiMeras. Also Hope and Bo have another son, Zach Brady who was switched with J.T. in the hospital on the night they were born by Stefano because Lexie got on kid and the Brady's got the other. Anyway J.T. went back to his real parents and Zach went back to his real parents, Bo and Hope, not John or Stefano as everyone expected. Oh yeah Bo and Hope & John and Marlena are all married. Anything else you'd like to know??? Has Peter and Kristin left yet because I can give you a lot more info about them. :happyface
