Hi, my name is Christina and i am new to the hit tv show "Chico and the Man" and this site. I always heard my mother talking about the show and just this weekend have i got to enjoy the show as well as the great talent and spirit of the late Freddie Prinze. I am 19 years old and was not born yet when the show was out, but i surely laughed my head off when i first heard Chico's "Lookin Good!" exclaimation. The man was great as was the show.

I just finished watching the episode when Raul found out about the "First Chico" and Ed went beserk and smashed Chico's guitar. After spending the whole weekend with Chico and the Man, that episode gripped me in a way that i never felt before. That was the moment that i realized that what we had lost. A star, a talent and an amazing person. He left behind a legacy and a lot of love in people's hearts. And it just went to show you that even in death, you are still a great.

But now you can still see some of Freddie today through his son, Freddie Jr, who is now a successful Hollywood actor. He is a great talent whom i have the pleasure to enjoy in my generation and the next. I am indeed proud of Freddie and i know his father is too. Freddie Jr. has carried on his father's legacy and virtue with pride and great talent and i know that wherever his father is, he's smiling with pride as well.

Freddie Prinze, this is my tribute to you. I never knew you before, but now i hope to get more aquainted with you by enjoying your show day after day.

Thank you.

I too am a new fan of "Chico and the Man" I was a baby when Freddie Prinze took his own life. My mother had told me about him when we saw Freddie Prinze Jr. on t.v. She told me that he was funny and very handsome. This weekend i watched the "Chico and the Man" marathon and i now know what my mother was talking about. Freddie Prinze was incredibly charming and charismatic as well as funny and good looking. It is sooo tragic that such a special person would kill himself. I truly wish that he were alive today. But i will continue to watch "Chico and the Man" on T.V. Land.

I watched as many Chico and the Man shows as I could during this marathon weekend but was unable to see a few of them. I was wondering about the episode in which Raul found out about the first Chico. Did Ed mention to Raul that the first Chico died? I wasn't sure if they put that in the script or if they just stayed with the one in which he goes off to live with his wealthy father.

Chas man - yes, Ed does say he died but doesnt say how. The young chico ran away, ed catches up with him and wants him to come home, he doesnt want to because "what if Chico comes back, the he wont want him" ed explains that Chico is dead.

Ed does ask Raul if he wants to know how Chico died but Raul says no, that he'd rather think of Chico as he does his mother, like a guardian angel or something... I'm kinda dim on what he said.
