When did grumpy Andy first appear?

I remember some episodes from the fifth season where he was grumpy. I can't recall which ones, but I remember they were in B&W.

He was definitely grumpy before the color episodes, such as when Helen messed up Opie's report card,, not sure what season that was in except pre-color.
