Who wants to see a Charles in Charge Marathon??? I thought N@N showed marathons of classic tv shows. Charles in Charge??

I want to see the CiC marathon, thank you very much.

Question about the Reunion week:
Are they showing the actual reunions, or showing reruns of episodes that had Thanksgiving/reunion themes? Either one would be great! I mean....CAROL BURNETT ON N@N!??!?! FOR A NIGHT?!?!?! THAT'S FRIGGIN AWESOME!!!!! Sorry......*jumps around merrily*

Even though I'm not a CIC or Scott Baio fan, you have to respect that some members of the board are CIC and Scott fans.

Well it's nothing wrong with showing CIC on a daily basis once a day, but a marathon, that's a bit much

Well, if its just a one day "half and half" marathon that lasts for half of the N@N Schedule (9:00 PM EST-1:00 AM EST roughly) then it could be all right on the grounds that all N@N acquisitions initially get a "welcome" marathon.

If its an all nighter or the one week Cheers style marathon IIRC...well...

Solomon, I just looked at the schedule and saw the note on Charles in Charge and their marathon. I'll tell you what I think in a second

As it turns out the schedule shuffling seems better this time around. AITF moves to an excellent 11:00 PM EST slot thats most appropriate for them.

Note that Viacom is giving 2 Prime Time airings of The Cosby Show at 9:00 PM Eastern Time (NY) AND Western Time (LA) for prime exposure as Nick uses an East Feed and a West Feed is that right? In any event on both coasts, Cosby gets the Prime Time slots w/2 hours a night.

Cheers of course gets moved back in the later time slot to 2:00 AM EST w/of course 2 hours a night & 1 Prime Time slot. Three's Company and Family Ties sees no change here as does CIC.

This is a good schedule, of course with that standard disclaimer: All Together Now: Subject to change.

Fri-Sat:
10:00: Cosby Show
11:00: Cheers
rest of the night is the same as Sun-Thurs
*all times eastern/pacific

So AITF loses two slots here starting in October?

Solomon, that's not too bad; only 2 hours a night. I'll be honest. I was worried that CIC would tie up the channel all night until I saw the schedule. This is fair considering that every show gets a 'welcome' marathon & even factors in CIC's status (only lasted a couple of seasons at that)

Righteous. I'll just avoid the Cosby episodes as I've probably seen them recently somewhere:D:D

Actually, CiC ran for 5 or 6 seasons, and I for one am glad it's on NaN, and relax, it's only through May 2003. I mean, it's not like it's even in primetime, or latenight, just an early morning timeslot. Not that big of a deal. And yeah, all NaN shows get welcome marathons, it's nice that they're actually acknowledging CiC. I'm not the biggest fan of the show, but still, lol, I'm happy anything different is on Nick at Nite...

For your information, SOLOMON, I would LOVE to watch a Charles In Charge marathon.

The marathon is well deserved for the bad timeslot that it currently has. :o

i for one can not wait for the marathon. CiC is probibly one of my favorate sitcoms ever and also in my opinion, the best show currently on Nick at Nite. Its as much of a classic as The Cosby Show or Family Ties and especially Coach. Ive been taping it every single night since i got new that it was on(beginning of Sept.) and am really enjoying watching it again.

Anyone else think that this marathon is weird? Usually marathons last about 4 hours, not 2. Just another way N@N is going down the tubes. They just need to show Cosby and Cheers no matter what, eh?

I'm happy they added some shows and got rid of the double takes, but I realllly wish they hadn't cut down on TC, FT, and Coach. IMO it shoulda been 12am-1am TC 1am-2am FT 2-3am Coach and then the rest. Oh well. At least they're keeping TC and adding a few shows.

Czas na Zywiec
10-17-2002, 09:47 PM
That's dumb. If they wanted to get rid of the double takes, they should have gotten rid of the one's in the early evening and left the later ones. I thought I'd never see the day N@N would play more thatn 6 shows. But Brady Bunch????? Isn't it already rerun to death on TVLand? Wow, I feel sorry for you TC fans.

*GASP* Nick at Nite actually airing CLASSIC tv, say it isn't so. LOL. Sure, Three's Company and All in the Family are classics, but I don't think of them that way, lol. I'm sort of surprised to see Happy Days and The Brady Bunch. I had a feeling Nick at Nite had a reason for including HD and BB in the recent specials. Well, for all of those who don't get TV Land, record those while you can. (I get TV Land, lol, so I don't have to worry about that).

This is quite groovy. :)

Good to see classic shows on N@N. Although the Three's Company cutback is somewhat surprising. Always like the Bradys and Happy Days. Also good to see Kids Say still around after being axed by The New TNN (I still cant stay mad at TNN, though, with all three new Trek series coming to their station by 2K6 :)) The 2 to 6 block is great, especially from Three's Company to Kids Say.

I'm betting the 1 am airings aren't doing as well as Nick thought they would. I still don't understand why Nick couldn't put Coach on earlier, I mean, in the past, all the new shows got the best timeslots, it's too bad Nick is so biased towards Cosby and Cheers. It doesn't bother me, really, since I'm not a fan of Coach, but I'm sure the fans aren't happy with it.

BREAKING NEWS...NICK @ NITE GETS RID OF OVER NIGHT DOUBLE TAKES EFFECT. NOV 4 and adds Happy Days, Brady Bunch and Kids Say:

This is most Marvelous News to The Man of Barnes and his constituents about the revising of Nick at Nite schedule philosophy. As a certain Archie Bunker once said: "What is, is. What has been, has been. And what will be, will be. Que sera sera."

Let's hope Nick at Nite is smart enough to put in a balanced schedule w/out the excessive Cosby and Cheers overload. Of course they still could do something stupid like air it: Cosby, Cheers, Cosby, Cheers. But let's give them a chance. And since there's a revision in the schedule, I'll have to make new comments for My Diplomatic Bag. Film capsule recovery in the Pacific. Let's begin

Sun-Thu
9:00PM The Cosby Show
9:30PM The Cosby Show
10:00PM Cheers
10:30PM Cheers
11:00PM All in the Family
11:30PM All in the Family
12:00AM The Cosby Show
12:30AM The Cosby Show

As there is no change here, I'll just briefly comment. The schedule here is logical, and come November 4, I hope its still logical. I would suggest a nice rotation like this:

Kids Say @ 8:00 PM EST
Brady Bunch @ 8:30 PM EST (NICKELODIAN!)
Cosby @ 9:00 PM EST
Cheers @ 9:30 PM EST
AITF or Three's @ 10:00 PM EST
Coach @ 10:30 PM EST
Three's or AITF @ 11:00 PM EST
Charles in Charge @ 11:30 PM EST
Happy Days @ 12:00 AM EST
Family Ties @ 12:30 AM EST

From 1:00 AM EST to 6:00 AM EST:

Take the best 5 shows in the lineup and Double Take them with regular MONDAY-FRIDAY slots (IMO Cosby, AITF, Cheers, Three's Company, and Coach).

And rotate other shows in place of the numerous airings of Cosby, Cheers, & AITF. How to do this? Let me see...

Family Ties MON (replace Cosby)
Happy Days TUE (replace Cheers)
Charles In Charge WED (replace AITF)
FAN REQUEST THUR (? replace Cosby)
TV LAND CLASSIC FRI (? replace Cheers)

This could solve the imbalance of Cosby and Cheers airings N@N has done so far. For fairness, I'll include AITF. And you could include Three's for its been on a while. Leave Coach be for its only been on a short time.

Every show gets 1 slot from 9:00 PM EST to 1:00 AM EST with Brady Bunch & Kids Say going to Nickelodian. And Every show gets AT LEAST 1 Double Take w/the best 5 shows getting more slots (but subject to rotation).

Oh yeah weekends. Do specials (Party Crashers, Make Your Own Sunday, etc) or TV Land crossovers SAT & SUN. Or just have regular programming from 10:00 PM EST to 6:00 AM EST.

1:00AM Cheers
1:30AM Cheers

This seems most curious this

2:00AM Coach

It appears that Coach didn't do well in either the marathon or the regular 1:00 AM slot. How else do you explain:

2:30AM All in the Family

GAINING a time slot here. My Spirit Man of course doesn't mind AITF; in fact he's crazy about it, but still its a right flibbertygidget this for Coach fans. Amen.

3:00AM Three's Company

No change. I expected as much. But then there's:

3:30AM The Brady Bunch

Beautiful is the world and our creation

Jesus is the Lord of All the Earth

Brady Bunch reflects the Life of our good nation

For the Brady Grid is Righteous

Brady Grid is Ri-i-i-igh--teous

The Brady Grid is Righteous

Throughout the Earth

And that would probably explain the "I Want To Be A Brady" ads I kept hearing. Quite an odd time. A textiles worker in Appilachicola on a lunch break will see this airing and say: Why does the outside view not match the inside? To which I'll say, as Nick at Nite is apparently saying:

Watch and get Wisdom from the Grid.

Amen.

4:00AM Happy Days

A decent choice. BTW, did you know that the term 'Jump The Shark' came about because Fonzie...well...jumped a shark? However, Laverne & Shirley should also be included.

4:30AM Charles in Charge
5:00AM Family Ties

Family Ties looks a bit clem here. Their ratings must have taken a nosedive. Ironically, I remember TBS had it on years ago around this time. I don't know.

5:30AM Kids Say The Darndest Things

This should really be NICKELODIAN. Probably why they put it there.

Fri-Sat:

10:00PM The Cosby Show
10:30PM The Cosby Show
11:00PM Cheers
11:30PM Cheers
12:00AM The Cosby Show
12:30AM The Cosby Show

1:30AM Cheers

Oh Geez:D:eek::D

2:00AM All in the Family
2:30AM All in the Family

Oh Louise! Look Honey! AITF gains for a season some time slots. Get that thar TIVOLA...that thar TIVALOR...oh lan sakes get that TIVO ready! Its Archie Time!

3:00AM Three's Company
3:30AM The Brady Bunch

And an extra reward

4:00AM Happy Days
4:30AM Family Ties
5:00AM Family Ties

Very nice the hour of Family Ties. Still, however, the schedule is unbalanced. I say though, with Nick, you take it like it is.

5:30AM Kids Say The Darndest Things

*all times eastern/pacific

We'll see how this no double takes thing goes later. I hope though that there's a balanced schedule. Remember lads that Mr. Miyagi said that:

Balance is key.

And the Brady Bunch or Brady Grid:

Righteous man.

I agree with you on all of that.

Yes actual reunions, Andy Griffith from 1993, All in the Family from 1991, Carol Burnett from 1993, Cosby Show from 2002, and ver rare Honeymooner Reunion from 1985!!

For the first time in a LOOONG time, I'm actually anticipating watching Nick at Nite that week. Don't get me wrong, I tape and watch Charles in Charge all week long, but I don't count that, since it airs in the morning, LOL, weird, I know.

You better believe my VCR will be tuned to tape those specials all week long.

YES! I have been waiting for years to see the All in the Family Reunion. But still I need something to fill the empty void for my Cheers. :Sighing:

I for one am looking forward to a CIC marathon.:D I don't consider it to be a "classic" by any means, but it is a funny show.

I'm *actually* interested in watching Nick-at-Nite for the reunions that will be airing this November. I'll finally be able to watch some reunions, that haven't been shown for years, along with the ones I haven't seen. I'm also interested at watching the Charles in Charge marathon coming up, in prime-time which is hard to believe, because usually I'm used to seeing The Cosby Show or Cheers all the time. I'm looking forward to watching this month, and I'll have to pay attention to some of the specials that will be coming up.

Check the first post, I finally got the Carol Burnett episodes and the Honeymooners special description, it's not the 1985 reunion :(

Yeah I've seen the description and needless to say the 85 reunion sounds more interesting. Could the day be far off when Britney Spears and Backstreet host a 40th Anniversary 'reunion' of Brady Bunch? (1969-2009)

Andy: I've seen the Andy reunion; that sounded familiar.

Honeymooners I'll probably avoid

Carol Burnett sounds decent

Cosby I'll avoid on account of Lisa Bonet and Cosby! :D:D I've seen enough Cosby.

Wouldn't it be funny if NAN aired the "Three's Company" E true hollywood story as part of the reunion week?
