I believe Merdith Baxter Burney from the old T.V. show Family Ties should play the mother of Phoebe Buffay played by Lisa Kudrow in maybe a flashback episode. These two actress mannerism and comic timing are very similar and it could explain why her character
is as off-center as she is.

Teri Garr plays Phoebe's birth mother.

I've always assumed that Lily,Phoebe's adopted mother would be brunette.

Thanks for the update on my comment. I had asked the webmaster to remove my posting after I later learned about Terri Garr played Phoebe's mother. While I do love the show I am not up on all of the past episodes. I still believe that Mrs Burney should play a family member of Phoebe's maybe a aunt she never knew about or a cousin of her mother. The reason why I say this is because Mrs Kudrows character is the only incomplete character on the show. I mean we know why Chandler is so crazy because of a domineering mother and a passive father and Rachel is insecure because of a domineering father and a passive mother. Ross and Monica can easly be seen in their parents and of course Joey is the stereotypical Italian male from a large family.
Phoebe is still a mystery after all these years and it would be nice to see some sort of resolution about why she is the way she is before the show wraps up.
