Before Batman had his own solo movie in 1966, he had his own TV series that ran for three seasons, that ran on either side of the Batman movie. The Green Hornet and Kato would appear in two episodes of the Batman TV show, thus establishing a direct link between the two shows. Even now you can find the clip of Bruce Lee fighting Robin on YouTube if you're curious.
As I said before, Jose Jimenez from The Bill Dana Show also made an appearance in a Batman episode as well. Jose Jimenez has strong ties to everything from, Make Room For Daddy, to I Love Lucy, to The Andy Griffith Show, and many others. I'll separate the Batman shared universe from The Andy Griffith Show shared universe though, but the connection is there. I think it's pretty mind-blowing to think that Batman, The Green Hornet and The Andy Griffith Show all existed in the same universe as each other.
It's actually quite amazing how this campy and relatively short-lived version of the Batman has endured for so long, and even now it's enjoying a resurgence in popularity. After the live action movie and TV shows had wrapped up by 1967, the animated New Adventures of Batman came up a decade later, voiced by Adam West and Burt Ward themselves. Two short years after the animated continuation of Batman '66 had finished, Adam West and Burt Ward reprized their roles as Batman and Robin for Legends of the Superheroes. Legend of the Superheroes introduced and reintroduced a whole swag of characters into the '66 continuity, Captain Marvel, Green Lantern, Black Canary, The Flash, Hawkman, The Atom, Huntress, Sinestro, Mordru and Giganta.
Return to the Batcave was a very meta, tongue in cheek look back at Batman '66. Batman the Brave and the Bold, while not explicitly following the continuity of Batman '66, it's very obvious that it did. Bluewater Comics also released The Mis-Adventures of Adam West, The Secret Lives of Julie Newmar and Burt Ward - Boy Wonder. The new Batman '66 comic books run in continuity with the Batman '66 timeline and even recounts the meeting between Batman and The Green Hornet, with some incredibly lifelike artwork by Alex Ross. News also came in that DC are planning a Batman '66 animated movie that some are guessing will tie into the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Adam West and Burt Ward will also be returning to voice Batman and Robin once more. There are also rumors of a second animated movie too, but that one wasn't confirmed. This particular Batman shared universe has inexplicably endured for pretty much 50 years now, in one format or another.
