View Full Version : Do you think Nickelodeon will no longer exist and be renamed Paramount Kids?
Hawkee 02-01-2024, 03:26 AM With Paramount+ becoming really popular now do you think Nickelodeon will no longer exist in the years to come? I think Nickelodeon will be sold and be renamed Paramount Kids because I think Nickelodeon's president and staff have a big future planned for it to be renamed Paramount Kids. Because when you get the general picture Nickelodeon has not made any original cartoons or shows for the actual Nickelodeon cable channel but now has put any new Nickelodeon shows and movies on Paramount+ and making them exclusive to Paramount+ like the Rugrats reboot Big Nate the Spongebob Squarepants spinoff cartoon Kamp Koral and many other shows and making Good Burger 2 a Paramount+ exclusive movie and all it tells me is that they might sell Nickelodeon and rename it Paramount Kids. If Nickelodeon were to no longer exist a lot of Nickelodeon fans would be in shock if it were to happen
Merry24 02-01-2024, 09:59 AM I think it will be renamed. Or removed totally.
tenter 02-01-2024, 12:20 PM Rock Paper Scissors is new original Nickelodeon cartoon airing on Nickelodeon on Feb 6. Feb 5 will be exclusive look of the show. The official premiere based on promo will air on Feb 12.

Speaking of Paramount Plus originals, Nickelodeon hasn't aired it for months, like Big Nate, Rugrats (2021), Transformers: EarthSpark, etc... Rugrats (2021) was supposed to air last Dec for season 2, but they never did air.
Hawkee 02-02-2024, 03:46 AM In my eyes I think Nickelodeon will become like what happened to Hub Network and they will turn Nickelodeon into a family oriented channel and they will slowly phase out the cartoons and move them to Paramount+ and Nickelodeon will focus on expanding TV Land and Nick At Nite. And maybe Nickelodeon will develop kids game shows to be exclusively shown on Paramount+ because the way I see it if Nickelodeon were to keep surviving on TV they need to bring back the original variety format with game shows and kid friendly sitcoms and not just focus on cartoon empires like Spongebob Squarepants. Because I think ever since Paramount+ was launched Nickelodeon has had a dream of teaming up with Paramount and launching a kids network and by seeing how successful the Nickelodeon lineup is for Paramount+ they are one step closer to becoming Paramount Kids. In a lot of ways I think Nickelodeon has copied Disney Channel by having to appeal to the older kids audience by having celebrities that kids can identify with such as Victoria Justice Ariana Grande Miranda Cogsgrove and shows such as ICarly and That Girl LayLay and it seems that these Nickelodeon celebrities made Nickelodeon a huge ton of money to help the channel survive. But I think we will see Paramount Kids exist in a few years
Frank Gannucci 02-03-2024, 10:15 PM Even though I am 43 and no longer watch the channel, I hope not.
FHCastmember 02-04-2024, 03:17 PM Pluto TV has like 5 Nick channels, they are already phasing out Teen nick in favor of Totally Teen.
Hawkee 02-05-2024, 02:50 AM I also think that Nickelodeon has to come up with a way to attract an audience or I think Viacom will sell Nickelodeon and come up with the Paramount Kids channel. Because when you look at the general picture Nickelodeon is like Disney by sticking themselves into anything you can imagine like merchandise hotels and amusement parks and they hoped that when the Nickelodeon Family Resort hotel chain operated by Holiday Inn would open their first resort they hoped it would be successful like the Disney resorts are and when the Nickelodeon amusement park opened at Mall Of America they hoped it would be successful like Disneyland Walt Disney World and Universal Studios And Six Flags theme parks. But what I think will happen is Nickelodeon will get a new president and focus on original programming for the Nickelodeon library on Paramount+ and try to combine the Nickelodeon library into Paramount Kids and maybe a cable channel of Paramount Kids will follow suit soon
tenter 02-05-2024, 12:16 PM Pluto TV has like 5 Nick channels, they are already phasing out Teen nick in favor of Totally Teen.
Totally Teen right now is literally iCarly. There used to be Victorious airing recently. For iCarly marathon, it's unknown if it's permanent for now.
There are actually 8 Nick channels for Pluto TV:
Some of these preschool shows like Butterbean, Top Wing, Abby Hatcher, Nella, Shimmer and Shine are not in paramount plus anymore, and yet it's still there on pluto channels.
NickJr: (Peppa Pig, Blue's Clues & You!, PAW Patrol, Bubble Guppies, Blaze
Zoom Zoom: (Blaze, PAW Patrol, Ricky Zoom, Rusty Rivets, Top Wing)
Dora TV: (Butterbean's Cafe, Abby Hatcher, Nella, Dora the Explorer)
Nick: (Henry Danger, Danger Force, Young Dylan, Casagrandes, Loud House, SpongeBob, Fairy OddParents)
Nick en Espanol
90sKids (Rugrats (classic), Hey Arnold!, Doug (Nickelodeon ones), Kenan and Kel, Rocko)
Totally Teen (iCarly)
Turtles (TMNT, TMNT 1987, TMNT 2003, Avatar: Last Airbender, Danny Phantom)
NickJr En Espanol pluto tv already shut down last Jul 2023.
90sKids back last Dec used to air Christmas specials of All That (classic), CatDog, Rocket Power, Jimmy Neutron.
Overall just like current linear TV, even pluto tv nowadays is a shell of former self.
Although No Parents Allowed pluto channel does have few game shows like Legends of the Hidden Temple (90s Nickelodeon game show), etc.. few others

Something like that makes you want to ask one thing: "Do they HAVE to?"
What will any such rebranding for Nickelodeon mean for Nick and Nite (however boring that block has become with mini-marathons of the exact same few shows)? I mean, if rebranding the linear Showtime network as "Paramount+ with Showtime" was bad enough...
Hawkee 02-08-2024, 03:06 AM When you look at how successful Nickelodeon had become before Paramount+ came along I think when they found out that CBS All Access was gonna be renamed Paramount+ Nickelodeon had a dream to someday launch their own app and do away with the Nickelodeon channel because TV apps were in it's infancy at the time kids channels such as Disney Channel and Cartoon Network were launching TV apps of their own Nickelodeon wanted to follow suit. But if by chance Nickelodeon gets renamed Paramount Kids they will add new shows and finally add the entire Nickelodeon game show library with Make The Grade Family Double Dare Think Fast Get The Picture You're On Wild And Crazy Kids Brainsurge and Figure It Out and stick some of the classic 90's Nickelodeon shows like The Mystery Files Of Shelby Woo The Secret World Of Alex Mack Space Cases Cousin Skeeter and Roundhouse and Paramount could develop their own game shows for kids and add them to Paramount Kids if it came true. Because the thing that hurt Nickelodeon was the death of game shows and turning their focus to sitcoms and cartoons and if Paramount Kids were to exist game shows for kids would be huge and developing original exclusive kids sitcoms would work great as well
Hawkee 02-11-2024, 05:03 AM When you get the general picture I think if Paramount Kids were to exist on Paramount+ I think once that Nickelodeon sees that Paramount Kids is a hit they will most likely shut down Nick At Nite and TeenNick and build Paramount Classic TV to replace Nick At Nite and Paramount TeenZone will become the new name of TeenNick. Because when TeenNick began life as The-N I think Nickelodeon already had plans to launch a network aimed at teens because seeing how it worked for NBC Nickelodeon copied NBC's teen formula and with The-N that became a reality. Because Paramount is a huge successful company that does everything from producing TV shows have movies that are blockbuster hits and anything you name they have become more huge than ever before and I think ever since Paramount+ was launched it has been their pride and joy that gets tons of attention. So in the case of Nickelodeon rebranding itself as Paramount Kids in the future I think the idea could work wonders

That Turtles channel is def going to be rebranded.

No, they're NOT!
AMackII 03-04-2024, 06:22 PM No, Nickelodeon should get it’s own name

I thought Cartoon Network's schedule was bad... but this is the worst ever. How could they even think this is okay to air? Wild... Check it out!

OK that video is from Oct 2023. So really, what's the point for you posting the video, which is NOTHING new?
Smurfs had left Nickelodeon early last month. Bubble Guppies already last aired end Oct 2023.
Nickelodeon schedule already had been bad for years and NOTHING new.
