I was surprised to see this article today (from an Indianapolis station not Fort Wayne ).
Google currently only has 14 data centers in North America, 24 in the world.

I'm sure Indiana can use a good infusion of business and who else but Google...my Santa Monica has 2 Google locations and close to one another and a short distance from the ocean. So a desirable and pricey place for people to work. Many claim they won't use Google, but I am OK with it for my needs....

I don’t have much of an issue with Google. I do like how they refused to bow to the Chinese government over censorship of their search results which caused Google to be completely banned in the country (down to phone applications, stuff like Google Earth and Google Translate).

Plus, Indiana is affordable. The Bay Area is one of the most expensive places to live on Earth. Someone can buy a four bedroom house for a down payment and pay less in a monthly mortgage than renting a small one bedroom in the Bay Area.

But this also means living in Indiana. I don’t know if I would like it there. The Midwestern winters is one thing. Plus, Indiana sounds boooring. Maybe not. All I know is that Indiana loves basketball, car racing, call themselves “Hoosiers” for some reason. California in many ways still rocks, beautiful weather, gorgeous landscapes, many activities and entertainments, marijuana is legal. Fort Wayne……”I’m bored, let’s go to Walmart again?”
