This isn't my real life, but I was playing a game where the Protagonist tries to get along with her Fiance's best friend, Avery. There were three "fun," Choices to choose from that are supposed to be fun, but end up with Avery being mad at the Protagonist.

Choice A. Go swimming at the beach. Avery ends up swimming into a school of jellyfish and gets badly stung and the Protagonist didn't bring any ointment..Ouch.

Choice B. Go explore caves. The Protagonist forgets batteries for the flashlights and Avery gets badly hurt in the darkness. Ouch.

Choice C. Go on a boat ride. The Protagonist forgets to bring sunscreen and Avery gets badly sunburned. Ouch


This was a total Catch 22. NONE of the choices end up being GOOD and Avery gets mad at the Protagonist.

According to a dating Website, another example of a Catch 22 is your Girlfriend talking crap about her Mother and you talking crap about her Mother and she getting pissed off at you despite her talking crap about her Mother. The dating Website said something like,"Your Girlfriend is entitled to talk crap about her Mother since she's the daughter, but you not being part of her Mother's Family are not entitled to talk crap about her Mother."
