Theme composed and conducted by Wilbur Hatch.

Many people--including sitcomonline.com--have come to the conclusion that there are 2 opening themes, and 2 closing themes. The closing is the only theme that was the same from the shows entire run. The two opening themes were the same--to a certain degree. During the 2 seasons "The Mothers-In-Law" ran they used exactly the same opening theme--except the only thing that differed between the two opening themes were there were different assorments of sounds, such as a "thud" or a "plunk" when there would be a scene in the opening credits when they would need to use a sound effect for the actional footage that was being displayed--during the opening credits. So the only real difference is when they decide to use sound effects over the instrumental theme. The only way to get the full theme--without any sound effects--is to edit the two themes together. I am able to do so--due to the fact that I own both opening versions of the theme.

I am planning to start a website called tvthememania.com in which I will have various assorted themes--of any genre of show--and will only except them in MP3 format, mint quality sound, and will remix the opening/closing themes of the show together; in order to make the theme complete. I have many theme songs on my computer already. Here is a list of full opening/closing themes I own.

The Mothers-In-Law
Growing Pains [1st season]

I don't mean to be a party pooper, but there is a website already called soundamerica.com and they have TONS of old Tv show themes, from even some of the most obscure 1940s and 50s shows.

Don't click on their Television button, but on their Themes button, and there you can go on to their TV show theme section. And yes they have The Mothers-In-Law theme. I even discovered the original 1960s (yes 1960s version) of the Match Game theme song with Gene Rayburn as host, which is completely different than the much more familiar 70s theme.

When I clicked on that 60s Match Game theme out of curiosity I was astonished as this was one of those theme songs that's been in my head since that time!! When i heard it for the first time on soundamerica I said, Oh My God! So THAT'S where I know that theme! (I was born in 1961 and watched daytime TV).

That's where I got all my TV themes from, they're the originals. I have all the soaps and gameshows too.
