So in English we have to do a research paper about someone who contributed to society, but we hadta write about their obstacles and stuff....well I picked Anne Sullivan...the lady who taught Helen Keller...yeah anyways...so I couldn't find anything about her in the library, so I'm looking under the K's for Hellen Keller...and I see Geri Jewell's book. So I was like "AH!" I asked my English teacher if I could change topics cuz I couldn't find anything about mine and she goes "NO! There's PLENTY of information about Anne Sullivan out there!" SO I can't do Geri!!! GAAAAAAAWD! I WISH I WOULDA THOUGHT OF HER EARLIER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry I hadta vent.

ask again...lol. I mean like, don't just ASK though...give reasons, support your idea, form a conclusion...write a paragraph...lol.sorry, we're doing paragraphs in English...it's so stupid, freshman english, and we have to waste time on stuff that we've been told forever just cause a bunch of people got low scores..
BUT ANYWAYS
Seriously, Geri Jewell is AWESOME!! I mean, look at what she's done!!! She went on tv, forcing us all to realize a few things. One, that there ARE diseases out there that, although they aren't ALWAYS fatal,(although, I've heard that cerebral palsy can be pretty close to fatal...if not fatal, in severe and rare instances, but, maybe I'm mistaken) they affect people's lives. People with Cerebral Palsy aren't exactly the 'hollywood image' of what people are suppose to look like. Narrow minded people take one look at people who are physically handicapped in some way, and they just turn and go the other way, because, in their mind, that person can't have a brain, and think like "normal" people!!! However, Geri showed a lot of people(everyone watching FOL) that people with physical handicaps can do everything "normal" people can do! They may talk a little slower, or walk a little slower, but, everyone walks and talks at their own pace anyways, so, what's the difference? Okay, that's just ONE TEENSY WEENSY PART of what Geri did, and what did Anne Sullivan do?? She taught Helen Keller, which, I admit, could NOT have been easy...and Helen Keller was a very courageous person...I'm not exactly sure what else Anne Sullivan did, but, honestly...I would rather write about Geri...lol...yea, sorry about my huge speech there...sorry you can't write to Geri..:(:(:(

OMG, what a loser!!! Ugh, Im glad I never had teachers like that. Most teachers would rather have you do something you WANT to do it on, because you put more effort into it. Tell her you'd really rather do it on Geri because you are a fan of the FOL and could contribute a lot more about Geri. You could even throw in some FOL Geri quotes and stuff and mention how she's doing today etc. Dont give up!! Tell her your paper will come out a lot better because its someone you truly admire (if it is, if not, lie ;) lol) instead of someone you just picked randomly. Pester her til she breaksdown! Good luck with the teacher and paper!!:D
