I think any third film in the initial Charlie's Angels film series would be too little too late because of Sony greenlighting that 2019 Charlie's Angels reboot (which was inexcusable; I'm sorry, Elizabeth Banks). Plus, Cameron Diaz choosing to retire from acting in the mid-2010s really didn't help matters in regards to any plans for a Charlie's Angels 3. And I'm not sure why a Charlie's Angels 3 is being considered right now given the technical ages of Mses. Liu, Barrymore, and Diaz.
Charlie's Angels 3 Gets Disappointing Response From OG Actor Lucy Liu 21 Years Later (https://screenrant.com/charlies-angels-3-update-possibility-lucy-liu-response/)
"I honestly don’t know how that’s going to be feasible (https://www.reddit.com/r/Fauxmoi/comments/19b6dno/lucy_liu_doesnt_think_charlies_angels_3_will_ever/). There have been so many iterations, even after the fact … In some ways, it’s such a strange thing to think about it (https://movieweb.com/charlies-angels-3-need-why/). Times have changed so much since then. At that time, when we were doing publicity, they had never before had three women (https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75591) on a magazine cover. They didn’t even know how to do it. It was such a strange thing for women to collaborate and be seen as colleagues and friends. It was such a big moment in time, and now it’s shifted. Even when I was doing Ally McBeal, there had never been a lead woman in that way. There was Mary Tyler Moore and things like that, but the focus has changed. I’m not in charge of that, but I always enjoy the time that I have and then I move on. I never really dwell on anything like that. But I really would be shocked (https://forums.digitalspy.com/discussion/1627270/do-you-think-there-will-ever-be-a-charlies-angels-3) if that happened (https://forums.digitalspy.com/discussion/1853196/wondering-why-there-was-never-a-charlies-angels-3)."

Maybe they can reunite to do a third movie and use Joe Namath. It could involve a plot to close the Medicare Coverage helpline.
Lucy Liu reveals what it would take for her to reunite with “Charlie’s Angels” costars Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz (https://www.msn.com/en-us/movies/celebrity/lucy-liu-reveals-what-it-would-take-for-her-to-reunite-with-charlie-s-angels-costars-drew-barrymore-and-cameron-diaz/ar-AA1YCZXa?ocid=msedgntp&pc=HCTS&cvid=69b5c90a53da45d7b1fb5f580aa02a1c&ei=9)
“Well, it doesn't take a lot,” Liu told Entertainment Tonight (https://www.tiktok.com/@entertainmenttonight/video/7615841774065503518) in a recent interview at the 2026 Time Women of the Year event in Los Angeles.
Released in 2000, Charlie's Angels followed three elite private investigators who work for the mysterious Charlie, taking on dangerous assignments while relying on intelligence, combat skills and teamwork.
Barrymore played the spirited and determined Dylan Sanders, Diaz portrayed the optimistic and athletic Natalie Cook, and Liu stepped into the role of the sharp and highly disciplined Alex Munday.
Directed by McG, the movie blended action, humor and stylized fight sequences, becoming a commercial success and later spawning the 2003 sequel Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.
Even though the original films were released more than 20 years ago, Liu says the bond between the three actresses hasn’t faded with time. In fact, the trio still finds opportunities to reconnect despite balancing motherhood with busy careers.
“We just had lunch together not long ago, and it was just one of the most special times we could all get together in New York and do it,” Liu recalled.
As for whether that off-screen friendship could eventually lead to another on-screen adventure, Liu isn’t ruling anything out. She kept her response playful but open-ended when asked if a reunion was in the works.
“Let's see,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I mean, there's always an ellipses.”
Liu’s comments come as rumors circulate that Barrymore may be exploring the possibility of revisiting Charlie’s Angels. For now, however, no official plans or confirmations about a new film have been announced.
