Still no real explanation as to all the cast changes early on, but I gather they just didn't like Austin or Strickland or Kelly. Larroquette said they felt Foley was too Harry-like. They also seem to be trying to bide time until Markie was available after Fall Guy was canceled.
At least the cast was honest about coming back for season nine because of money. But then there was talk about NBC dropping the show and season 10 on syndication. Even for a ton of money the stars hopefully would've said no to that just for the show's integrity. The thing was on fumes in that final year.
Sounds like they were mistreated by NBC after the cancellation. "Please clear out all dressing rooms by Monday" was all they ever heard.
But great behind the scenes stuff and character creation comments.
