Some of the humor for Three's Company stemmed from Janet and Chrissy telling their landlord, Mr. Roper that Jack was gay. However, it's pretty doubtful that what was considered edgy for TV back in 1977 like young people of different genders cohabitating wouldn't be such today.

With that, if Three's Company was being made today in 2024, are there any plot premises that would have the show's equivalent edginess but also be appropriate joke fodder relative to modern sensibilities? In other words, what living arrangement could an older landlord like Stanley Roper now find questionable? Keep in mind that it can't be as simple as just making the landlord a very backwards traditionalist.

Would you like a new animated version of Three's Company?

Married with Children is making a new animated version with the original cast doing the voices. Good Times is doing a new animated version with new people doing the voices.

I wouldn't mind an animated version of Three's Company if it's set in the 70's or 80's and they get people who sound exactly like Jack, Janet, Chrissy, and the rest of the cast . It would be the closest thing to having new episodes.

I don't know if that same premise can be made today as pretty much lots of friends male and female share living expenses as a financial necessity in some cases and pretty much that old generation of backwards thinking are long dead.
