I think there is a blooper in this episode towards the end. Mr Angelino, Jack and his dad are in the kitchen of Jack's Bistro. Jack's dad calls him John. "Save your breath John" is what he tells Jack when he wants to argue with Mr Angelino.

There is another episode from season 8 'Hearing Is Believing' in which Jack is dating a therapist Doreen and later in the episode when Doreen asks to see a patient of hers in the apartment this guy as he's leaving the room I could swear this guy says "Thanks, John" even though the closed caption says "Thanks, Jack".

I think I read on here that Mrs Roper called him John in the episode Stanley’s Hotline.

Interesting because the name of the guy in the bedroom was named John. It was a pun to make Janet think the call girl's John was in the bedroom. A little bit of trivia. The actor who played John also was Stephanie's father in Archie Bunker's Place.
