With the passing of David Soul today I knew that in addition to Starsky And Hutch David tried to become a singer and the song he was best known for was Don't Give Up On Us was very popular and even Owen Wilson covered it in the Starsky And Hutch movie and i'm curious if that song was David Soul's only big hit in the 70's or did he release other songs too?

He placed three hits in the Hot 100, all in the same calendar year (1977), Here's the info:

Don't Give Up On Us reached number 1

Going In With My Eyes Open peaked at number 54

Silver Lady peaked at number 52

I found David Soul's debut album today and listened to it this morning and I can say David Soul could've given Billy Joel a run for his money because David's music sounds identical to Billy Joel's and David sure did look cute on the album cover. While Don't Give Up On Us was his major hit he has other albums and even a greatest hits collection too. I wonder why David Soul never got real fame in music because he sounded amazing?
