Lady, are you crying?
Do the tears belong to me?
Did you think our time together was all gone?
299781

Lady, you've been dreaming
I'm as close as I can be
And I swear to you
Our time has just begun
299782

Close your eyes and rest your weary mind
I promise I will stay right here beside you
Today our lives were joined
Became entwined
I wish that you could know how much I love you
299783

Lady, are you happy?
Do you feel the way I do?
Are there meanings that you've never seen before?
Lady, my sweet lady
I just can't believe it's true
And it's like I've never ever loved before
299784

Close your eyes and rest your weary mind
I promise I will stay right here beside you
Today our lives were joined
Became entwined
I wish that you could know how much I love you
299785

Did you think our time together was all gone?

Lady, my sweet lady
I'm as close as I can be
299786

And I swear to you
Our time has just begun

Me too. But he was always cute, even with short hair.

Ah man. Poor thing. She has had a pretty good life. I look her up now and again and I don't remember hearing anything about her husband. Just pictures of where she was filming next.

(((hugs))) to her and her boy.

"and also, we have separate bank accounts! I think that is very important. I couldn’t imagine having a shared bank account with someone and needing to ask, ‘Oh, what did you spend money on there?’ I’m very independent and it works for us.”

Regarding the spelling of "Greg" vs. "Gregg," I think one could choose either, as unless I'm mistaken Family Affair was inconsistent for the character name.

For this thread, I chose Gregg because that's how Mr. Fedderson spelled his name in real life.

Yes, that's the one. With the 1971 date, I thought "My Sweet Lady" was appropriate for Cissy and Gregg, as that was the year Family Affair ended.

Although John Denver recorded it in 1971, it was when he released the song as a single in 1977 that I was hearing it on the radio, and it became a favorite of mine. Here are many more '70s love songs I've always liked (an absolute favorite by John Lennon, "Woman" from '80 just missed the '70s); see how many you recognize:

Beautiful by Gordon Lightfoot (1972)
Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton (1977-78)
Behind Closed Doors (1973) and The Most Beautiful Girl (1973) by Charlie Rich
Old Fashioned Love Song by Three Dog Night (1971)
She's Gone (1973/76) and Sara Smile (1976) by Hall & Oates
And I Love You So by Perry Como (1973)
(You're) Having My Baby by Paul Anka and Odia Coates (1974)
Annie's Song by John Denver (1974)
Get Closer by Seals & Crofts (1976)
You Are the Woman by Firefall (1976)
After the Lovin' by Engelbert Humperdinck (1976)
Lovin' You by Minnie Riperton (1975)
I'm Not in Love by 10cc (1975)
Beth by KISS (1976)
Silly Love Songs by Wings (1976)
Don't Go Breaking My Heart by Elton John and Kiki Dee (1976)
I'd Really Love to See You Tonight by England Dan & John Ford Coley (1976)
Moondance by Van Morrison (1977)
I Go Crazy (1977) and Sweet Life (1978) by Paul Davis
Lotta Love by Nicolette Larson (1978)
Sharing the Night Together by Dr. Hook (1978)
I'd Rather Leave While I'm in Love by Carole Bayer Sager (1977) and Rita Coolidge (1979)
Do That to Me One More Time by Captain & Tennille (1979)

Several love songs by Bread: Make It with You (1970), If (1971), Baby I'm-A Want You (1971), Diary (1972), Aubrey (1973), and Lost Without Your Love (1976)

Several love songs by Styx: Lady (1973), Lorelei (1976), Jennifer (1977), and Babe (1979)
