Who is the more endearing and loveable character on the list? Tell me why you think so.

I think Alex because he is the sensitive brother. :) :p He was the first person in the family Mallory went to when she had the problem with uncle Arthur.

Steven Keaton always seemed to the the humorous yet sincere father that you could always count on. I chose him.

I voted for Skippy Hendelman. I think there is somthing very enduring about the fact that he never gave up on his dream of going out with Mallory.

The results of the poll say that Alex was the most endearing character, but I disagree. Alex is more of a tough love kind of guy. He's sensitive to an extent, but he doesn't like to show it too much. Though I will say he is very charismatic.

I think Jennifer is the most endearing. She is very sincere with her words, as the youngest/near youngest usual are. The difference between Alex and Jennifer is that she says exactly what she means. With Alex, for the most part, you have to understand him and read between the lines.

Of course, Mallory went to him first. That's what most siblings close in age do. They have a stronger bond between them.

I voted for Steven, because he was always there for his family. If the kids had problems, he listened to them. He'd do just about anything to spend time with them, even if he came across like a big "dork." He was funny, kind-hearted and as Crimson pointed out, he was a sincere father.

Nick - It took a while for the family to warm up to him, and even if he wasn't exactly the sharpest crayon in the box, it was obvious to me that he had a very big heart and loved Mallory with all of it. He's also endearing to me because he followed his own lead, and he always made me laugh.

If we're voting on endearing, I reckon its a toss-up between Skippy or Steven, but with loveable you can't beat Alex P. Keaton! :D :D :D

I put Mallory because I thought that she was a good sister and very caring.

Alex may be a bit outspoken at times, but he is a sensitive young man who really cares for his family. Correct me if I'm wrong, as I have yet to see the latter seasons, but a common theme seems to be that Alex carried away and gets into trouble - then, at the end of the episode, he learns from his mishap and shows his tender and sensitive side.

Probably Steven. He along with his wife always did the right thing. They did not use violence. Steven is one of the more underrated tv dad's of all time.

I found Steven and Elyse Keaton is one of the more underrated married TV couples of all times. Michael Gross and Meredith Baxter Birney played those roles as if they were married in real life. They were the Rob and Laura Petrie of the 80's in terms of playing a realistic married couple. If you look at Elyse Keaton she is opened the door of being people working at home while raising a family. I wish more storylines could have shown Steven and Elyse's relationship.

It's unfortunate that Meredith Baxter-Birney's involvement on the show has caused problems with her husband. I like Alex the best, but I think is charisma between Steven and Elyse.

But if you were to watch Meredith Baxter Birney's bio on Biography the marriage between her and David Birney was a train wreck waiting to happen. The twins came as a hope to save their marriage. Watching the final season of the show you can tell Meredith was going through it because that was when she filed for divorce. The stress of her marriage filered in her performance. Along with not being happy that her role on show was diminishing.

Alex gets my vote. Yes, he could be greedy, selfish and insensitive, but he had a big heart. Michael J. Fox's immense likeability just came right through. I couldn't even picture anyone else in that role!!!

Well, except for the time they both decked Alex's teacher.

Just recently, I watched Ferris Bueller's Day Off. As much as I enjoyed watching Matthew Broderick's character, I don't think even he'd be able to play Alex P Keaton's character so lovingly and charmingly.

According to TVTropes, Alex P Keaton is a Jerk With A Heart Of Gold (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/JerkWithAHeartOfGold).

Favorite Nick quote:"Take my cousin, whatshisname."

Seriously, I also chose Steven. He was always there for his kids and always had good advice for the kids and all their friends. They all relied on and loved Steven.

I'll never forget the final season episode with his heart attack where they were all at the hospital and Skippy arrives with the huge bear. :) A light moment in a serious situation.

Well Alex is definitely my first choice, but the reasons for that are obvious, so I'll instead give you my second choice. I'd have to go with Skippy. Skippy was the loveable loser who almost always got the short end of the stick, but the guy who I think most of the audience was always rooting for. And when something did go his way for a change (Like when he got his dance with Mallory) I would always smile. :) I may be a softy, but I usually root for the underdog, and felt like I had more in common with the underdog, and Skippy was definitely an underdog type character. For those reasons, I'd have to pick him as one of the most loving, and endearing characters on the show. Other than Alex, he's number 1.
