I had previously started a thread on the Saved By The Bell page a little bit over three months ago by writing a post pertaining to Bonnie Russavage, who portrayed Vicki Needleman during the inaugural (and rather lackluster) debut season of SBTB: The New Class in the autumn of 1993, along with fellow newcomers Robert Sutherland Telfer (Scott Erickson), Jonathan Angel (Tommy "Tommy D." DeLuca), Isaac Lidsky (Barton "Weasel" Wyzell), Natalia Cigliuti (Lindsay Warner), and Bianca Lawson (Megan Jones).
Despite the cast's best efforts, Peter Engel (executive producer of SBTB: The New Class) was highly disappointed with the results of--as well as the overall ratings for--SBTB: The New Class' mediocre first season and ordered a complete overhaul for the struggling Saturday morning teen/tween sitcom in late 1993 (prior to the beginning of production for season two the following summer), and three of the cast members were retained (Angel, Cigliuti, and Lawson) for the next season and the other three (Telfer, Lidsky, and Russavage) abruptly terminated as fast as they'd arrived.
After rewatching SBTB: The New Class off and on throughout this year, I've always wondered whatever became of Bonnie Russavage. Aside from a bit role in the tabloid made-for-television film Roseanne: An Unauthorized Biography in the autumn of 1994, Russavage's thirteen-episode stint as Vicki during season one of SBTB: The New Class remains her most significant credit on IMdb (The Internet Movie Database) as of 2023. I hope and pray she hasn't disappeared into thin air or disintegrated into dust (much like her s**tcanned SBTB: The New Class castmate Robert Sutherland Telfer). In any case, wherever she is or whatever she's up to nowadays, I'm absolutely certain without a doubt Russavage is still among the living.
Drop me a line...I'd love to hear from all of you. I always enjoy kicking back in my cowboy boots and reading your comments on the various threads I've started on this website.
Enjoy the remainder of your fantastic Friday, as well as your New Years' weekend! Happy holidays!
