View Full Version : Like Attention??
Blonde Hoochie Mama 09-16-2002, 08:32 PM How many of you love attention. Frankly, I will do almost anything for attention(just being real people) I have done alot of wrong things for it, and said alot of bad things to people to get my way....I dont deny it. I dont know why, it's kind of like a disease, I just need attention, publicity, positive or negative. Anyone feel like me, or do you not give a sh't about whether you're the star of everything like me?? :)
Montana Ponine 09-16-2002, 08:40 PM I don't mind attention but I don't need it. There are times when I'm a total loner and I can't say that I mind. There are times when I actually like it. People can ignore me and pretend I'm invisible all they want and I'd live.
Czas na Zywiec 09-16-2002, 08:57 PM Well on the boards I can care less, and even less in my Trig and Physics classes, but in Drama Club, yah. I mean I don't want to be on stage while everyone either files their nails or looks away. That's kind of the whole idea of acting. Lol.....
Titania 09-16-2002, 09:09 PM I dont care about getting attention on the boards or online...
yeah, in real life, i like attention and usually find ways to get it. I do theater and dance and stuff, I call a lot of attention to myself sometimes just being myself. Its cool tho, I dont think I ever compromise myself or do anything wrong to get it.
Krystal Lake 09-16-2002, 09:12 PM I'm an actress. What do you think? ;)
Beruche 09-16-2002, 09:21 PM Well sometimes I want attention but most of the time I really don't care.
*Marilyn Monroe* 09-16-2002, 09:22 PM Hmm..sometimes I do, like on my good days, but sometimes I want everyone to leave me the hell alone, you know?? But I like good attention/

LOL, I just explained that. ;)
Mr. Shy Guy 09-16-2002, 09:37 PM Sometimes and sometimes not. Depends on what it is and how I feel about whatever.
Kay Scarpetta 09-16-2002, 09:46 PM Not really. I don't care what other people think of me, if they have a problem, oh well. I don't act a certain way just to get someone to notice me. I just go with the flow and be myself.
Rockapella722 09-16-2002, 09:54 PM I love it!
DarleneIllyria 09-16-2002, 10:46 PM I don't really care for attention. I never really cared about the attention and popularity contests and all that crap. I just did my own thing and said what I wanted to say. I didn't want to be a drama queen or be an ass just to get attention. It's not worth it, and it just isn't me.

yep. usually i just want them to go away. but, usually if i get attention it's like for stuff i'm doing "wrong." (ie, not eating meat *coughs*, not heading the damn soccer ball right and nearly breaking my glasses in the process, and all this other stuff). but, i don't really care either way. i'm not one who get a lot of attention, so whatever.
¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 09-16-2002, 11:14 PM I like (good) attention, but then when I get it, I feel like a complete dork and I start to get all self-concious. I dunno, Id rather keep to myself- I dont like people bugging me. :p

I hate it cause it makes me look liek such a dork, and when someone gives me a compliment or I laugh, I get worse. WHY can't I be one pof those people that don't turn any colors. :(

Its even worse when it comes to presentations (thank GOD school days are over!) and I turn red, my voice shakes, and I speak a mile a minute. Seriously, I ZOOM right through my speech to get it over with and people are like SLOW down! They say I sound like a chipmunk lol. Its even WORSE when you try to do it in Spanish.. Ay yi yi!!!! But if my best friend was in the class...we would laugh NON-STOP and would waste SO much time! It was aweful!

Same. I never make eye contact. LOL I just look at my paper or like the poster across the room. BUT Spanish I'm ok with cause there's only 8 people in our class, and I know them all pretty well. But anything else I HATE!

Ditto. But sometimes I look up...BIG mistake. Although, I find it comforting when people arent paying attention. Most would find it insulting, but I find it to be a relief!

I was the exact same way. I have no idea what happened to me. When I was younger, I didn't mind presenting or whatever. As I got older, I started to hate it so bad. I would talk fast, just like you did. The teacher would tell me to slow down.
Or even worse: laughing during a presentation. That is even worse than blushing. I had to do this skit thing with one of my friends in Humanities class. The damn thing was video taped, so she says something and I start lmao. I'm over to the side trying to stop laughing. I would tug at my hair or look in the corner to keep from laughing, but it wouldn't help. I would still giggle throughout the whole presentation.
Don't try to make the presentations dirty either. In Mythology class, I was working with my friends on this skit about somebody. I can't remember exact details. We came up with a skit about a God getting an erotic violation and turning into a frog. It was something like that. We actually did that skit in front of people and actually let it be videotaped. I was lmao and blushing like crazy. It was one of those things that was fun to think up. Then for the rest of the school year people would bring up 'Erotic Violation' to my group. It was crazy to say in the least.
Moonlight Lady 09-17-2002, 09:42 AM I love attention but if i don't get it, it's not a big deal.
Swimfan85 09-17-2002, 03:30 PM I enjoy being the center of attention and my friends know it...they actually tell me...hah dont care though
°Bubbly Blonde° 09-17-2002, 09:26 PM who doesn't like attention, but I dont go ONLINE looking for it, I mean, ha! how lame is that!?

same with me!!
ISmellFine 09-20-2002, 08:13 PM Sometimes I like it and sometimes I don't. When I'm all hyper and stuff I like it...but not a whole lot. But when I wanna be left alone...just leave me alone...I like to just be alone sometimes. :-p

I know what you mean! I like getting attention when it is positive, but then I feel all embarassed like why are all these people paying attention to me? And I wish I could just be left alone. It feels good to be acknowledged, but it feels weird to be the center of attention. Its kinda strange though because I do like doing presentations and being on stage, I just don't like when people start giving me compliments and asking questions, putting me on the spot. I totally freeze up when that happens!
